Good review, this is on my list as soon as my economy recovers from the last blow caused by cd's. I like Boltendahls singing, it has some "balls" needed in epic albums.

i've been listening to this over the past two months and i think the review is spot on apart from the rating, i'd go a little higher at 85.

i've enjoyed this album very much and look forward to volume's 2 & 3. :D

Pretty good band.
They have a lot of full mp3s on their website, if anyone is interested in checking them out.

Well, I just got this one in the mail. I ordered it after a discussion on the came up in another thread or two. This album is awesome. I've been listening to it non-stop for the past two days.

I guess I can't review any of their albums because these basturds already reviewed all their album! :( Anyway, here are the songs I posted in the other thread:

Taken from Sagas Of Iceland

YNGLINGA SAGA
RAGNHILD'S DREAM
THE SONS OF THE DRAGON SLAYER
CANUTE THE GREAT

DIGGIT!

.....you know I just got done listening to all those tracks....and not one struck me as anything special....or even worth listening to again. Goddamnit, it seems like every fucking true metal band I listen to sounds like this. Where's the fuckin spirit??? There's no attitude, fire, nothing. Its just bland formula metal. The riffs are stale...the guys voice is pretty cool, but thats about it. The lyrics are kind of dumb, and his vocals lines themselves are dumb as well. What a disappoitnment.

wow ! that bad !!!

I downloaded it, now I don't feel like listening to it anymore so...

NP
Kings of Convenience "Riot on an Empty Street"
(kind of the new Simon & Garfunkel gone a bit indie)

PS : don't worry Kenny, I'll try them whenever I feel in the mood for this kind of stuff 8)

The lyrics are actually really cool. Well written and historically accurate. I don't know, I find it to be the opposite of what you just wrote.

Well, to each his own I guess. I'm not saying its....terrible, its just not really good. It sounds like a whole slew of other bands. It's not impossible to be a good true metal band, it just takes a little bit more energy, and a desire to set yourself apart...not fit right in nicely.

Well, you likely listen to more bands like this than I do. I try and stay on top of things, but I can't buy everything. I don't have much that sounds like this band, so I really like them. Plus, I still find the songs to be excellent so it doesn't matter to me if they even sounded like a hundred other bands I own. It's good music to me, thus COO.
