Got this one today, and I am seriously kicking myself for not having listened to it sooner. This is really cool stuff. ... The review is spot on too, imo, and I couldn't agree more on the raw but warm production that enhances the very live and improvisational feel the music has.

Also, I don't know what it is (and I don't mean what follows as a comparison), but I get some of the same enjoyment and feelings from listening to this (tracks 3, 4, 5, ... although the tone is much more aggressive) as I do when listening to (Agalloch's) "The Hawthorne Passage". I will definately have to check out their other works.

I was actually looking at their tour dates, and I believe they will be playing fairly close to me later this month...

Also, after listening again I think my Agalloch was somewhat misplaced because I was actually thinking of the later tracks of the album, and it's still pretty aggressive, etc.. Anyway, I played it for my girlfriend, and she liked it too. :)

I thought that City of Echoes was good but disappointingly concise and streamlined... I like Pelican more when they're willing to jam on a riff for as long as possible :P
