You can still read the quotes..

Not my problem. If he thinks I was being that bad, he can edit them himself.

Good review for a great album. I enjoy this a lot. To Reign Again, In Words Of Desperation and The Road To Devastation are now amongst my favourite death metal songs ever. To Reign Again especially floors me every single time.

I call bullshit on these assholes. A few years ago Maurizio Iacono got pissed that Devil Driver got the opening slot on an Opeth tour. Kataklysm was also vying for that spot. When they didn't get it Maurizio got pissed and called Devil Driver nu-metal and whatnot, just ran his mouth and talked a lot of shit.

Of course Devil Driver are extremely heavy, not nu-metal. Regardless, he complains about Devil Driver, a band far heavier than Kittie, yet it's cool that Kittie's co-founder/vocalist/guitarist sings on their new album? Kittie started out nothing but nu-metal, they even still have a lot of nu-metal in their albums even though they've gotten decidedly heavier album to album.

Fuck that.

Shit, i'm going to that Opeth concert next week. I would have loved to have had Kataklysm over Devil Driver. At least Dark Tranquillity will be there.

What's Devil Driver like anyway? I remember that I heard them once and wasn't too keen on it, but I forget exactly what they sounded like.

Ken, you've never been angry and said a whole bunch of stupid shit that you later privately regretted and wished you could take back but felt too embarrassed to do it?

Well, you're a fortunate one, if'n that be the case.

Don't miss Devil Driver, you'll be pleasantly surprised. They kick ass.

Sure I have, but does he regret it? Possibly, but I've not read so. But he also implied that nu-metal was shit, that was his argument standpoint. It just seems rather hypocritical. No big deal either way, I just find it funny.

EDIT - how in the hell did I double-post six hours after the first post? That's damn confusing.

Not even. The lack of solos on every song doesn't cut it. Sure, on the debut there were a few moments that were sort of nu-metallish, but on their latest album there's none of that. Overall, though, not nearly enough nu-metal to be called a nu-metal band or say they're very close to nu-metal.

Yeah, I actually noticed that when I first started visiting the site. Lots of common favourites bands, albums or even songs. Must be the effect of some communist childhood induced trauma :D However, it's good for me, because I can always go for your recommendations without much of a risk.

Devildriver is actually pretty baddass IMO. My best friend just a couple weeks ago dislocated his shoulder during Devildriver. I popped it back into place for him and we continued raising hell in the pit. It wasn't until Trivium (his favorite band at the moment....pretty weak) came on and he dislocated it again. The second time he just about passed out after I popped it back again.
