I think at this point most of you have been hear long enough to understand that the reviewers will review some albums that won't be up to your standard of metal—which is VERY subjective, by the way. As long as they're not too far removed from the metal spectrum I don't think you have an argument. The site is called Metal Reviews, sure, but everything evolves and you've been here long enough to know that this site has done just that. Should a new domain name of rockandmetalreviews.com be bought? Would that stop the bickering? Would you at that point run off to another review website? It's a goddamn name, virtually pointless.
The reviews here are still excellent and well written, if a reviewer steps out of the metal shadow for a review or two, so what? No big deal. We could be writing the half-assed, one paragraph reviews rife with bad grammar and spelling errors like most other metal review sites out there, too. As it stands, MetalReviews.com is still one of the baddest review sites this side of your third nipple.
Can you dig on those treats?

While I don't give this Misha business much thought, you are wrong. There is a difference between reviewing stuff like Rock that Metal evovled from, and reviewing say, Dido(for example) because a Metalhead just happens to like it. It should at least have some form of bridge to the Metal world. You can say it's only a name all you want, but it's a site that is directly marketed towards Metal and it's fans. I listen to stuff that's not Metal, but there are plently of places that review that stuff. As you said, this is one of the few Metal review sites that is well-done and coherent, all the MORE reason for this site to be focused on Metal. There are 1001 "other genre" sites that have great info and reviews, but Metal has very few.
I work at a place called Budweiser and guess what? We sell beer, and only things related to beer. People can get soda from somplace else. That's kind of the point here. Don't want to be a site that's confined to Metal/Rock? Then don't MARKET it that way.
