Misha's review this week was infinitely less annoying than yours. TWO nu-metals and a shitty thrash attempt? Please.

It never sinks in does it? How many times does it need to be explained for it to sink in? Considering you're a "reviewer" now, you should understand what goes on behind the scenes. Unfortunately it seems like you just review what you like, instead of doing the actual job of a reviewer.

If the CDs come in, GUESS WHAT?!?!?!—for the 30th time, at least—they get reviewed.

Now, onto the more important discussion, let's take a look at this week's genres covered:

80's Melodic Rock (x2)
Heavy Metal/Rock
Power/True Metal
Blackened Viking Metal
Atmospheric Dark Rock/Metal
Space Rock
Alternative Nu-Metal
Dark Atmospheric Rock
Heavy/True Metal
Power Thrash
Melodic Nu-Metal
Progressive Rock
Heavy Metal
Heavy Thrash Metal

Now why in the goddamn hell are any of you complaining?

I think at this point most of you have been hear long enough to understand that the reviewers will review some albums that won't be up to your standard of metal—which is VERY subjective, by the way. As long as they're not too far removed from the metal spectrum I don't think you have an argument. The site is called Metal Reviews, sure, but everything evolves and you've been here long enough to know that this site has done just that. Should a new domain name of rockandmetalreviews.com be bought? Would that stop the bickering? Would you at that point run off to another review website? It's a goddamn name, virtually pointless.

The reviews here are still excellent and well written, if a reviewer steps out of the metal shadow for a review or two, so what? No big deal. We could be writing the half-assed, one paragraph reviews rife with bad grammar and spelling errors like most other metal review sites out there, too. As it stands, MetalReviews.com is still one of the baddest review sites this side of your third nipple.

Can you dig on those treats?

While I don't give this Misha business much thought, you are wrong. There is a difference between reviewing stuff like Rock that Metal evovled from, and reviewing say, Dido(for example) because a Metalhead just happens to like it. It should at least have some form of bridge to the Metal world. You can say it's only a name all you want, but it's a site that is directly marketed towards Metal and it's fans. I listen to stuff that's not Metal, but there are plently of places that review that stuff. As you said, this is one of the few Metal review sites that is well-done and coherent, all the MORE reason for this site to be focused on Metal. There are 1001 "other genre" sites that have great info and reviews, but Metal has very few.

I work at a place called Budweiser and guess what? We sell beer, and only things related to beer. People can get soda from somplace else. That's kind of the point here. Don't want to be a site that's confined to Metal/Rock? Then don't MARKET it that way.

Homey! Dude! Buddy! I agree with you. I think there is a well defined boundary that shouldn't be crossed when reviewing something here, but a lot of what people are complaining about is within that boundary. Tango, classical, and some other things Misha mentioned would clearly be pushing the envelope and I stated before that I think that would be too much, but would a rap metal band such as Stuck Mojo be acceptable? Absolutely.

You entirely missed the point. I'd take his "weird" bordering-on-metal reviews over your nu-metal "they-send-it-us-so-we-have-to-do-it" reviews. What this entire thread is about?

And as for that "Your not a real reviewer" jibe, shut up. I'm waiting for some promos to arrive...

It seems quite obvious to me that he isn't, but I don't care as long as he reviews stuff that isn't far too weird. Rock and subgenres such as space rock is fine with me.

By the way, this was one of the best weekly updates ever :D As long as we get 16 reviews/week, I can live with some nu metal reviews

Good, then next time don't reply in the thread, especially when didn't listen.

That's not what I said, I said "it seems" which would imply that it appears that you only review what you want to review. If you're awaiting promos then when you get a promo by a band doing something you normally don't like, hopefully you can give an objective review instead of pulling the crap you pull in the Revelation Theory thread. No band deserves people commenting on their music when they haven't given it a chance or a listen.

Did listen. And nyah, they wouldn't have got any attention otherwise...

And you definately implied that, so stop your backpeddling.

Many things remain obscured. Who gave the gardener the key to Lord Caterwallis's chamber-pot storage room? Why was there a green apple containing a worm laying on His Lordship's unmoving head? Why would anybody voluntarily listen to shit like hed(pe)?

Only vigorous interrogation can tell.

right on

I searched for the word Tango, as it was clearly in.

Indeed!! And that the only thing worse than a trendy indie guy was an elitist jazzman. To which I wanted to ask what the difference between an elitist jazzman and, for example, Holy_Terror was, besides the genre they listen to.
