The story is pretty bad this time around, with crappy lyrics. For the first half, Nikki wanders around thinking of the story of the first album. He kills Dr. X. Then he wanders around contemplating the morality of that action and suicide for the next half. Thats what I call a pretty bad story.

I think the lyrics are good, but I agree that the story is nowhere near as intriquing as the first.

I don't care what anyone says, great album, and even if it weren't, it's still OPERATION MINDCRIME II and should be bought at all costs! Even if you don't like the music. But I do like the music. And Dio works great along with Geoff.

Why should people buy it if it's not good? It is good, but if it weren't I would never say someone should buy it. Haha. Weirdo.

you should buy it because the bands name is Queesnrÿche and because the album title is Operation: Mindcrime II. That should be reason enough....

I gave it 60/100 as it's not as bad as I predicted it would be but still a pretty average work for a great band like Queensrÿche...

I'd just like to point that my fav' Q's albums are Promised Land & Empire... 8)

NP
U.D.O. "Mission N°X"
(this is surprisingly good ! classic classy heavy metal... :D )

You know, I was in Maui last Summer and we went into the hard rock cafe and on the wall was a signed Tri-Ryche guitar! I almost shit myself. That guitar is so bad ass!

It was so random! It was funny because were just there to buy a stupid guitar pin for a friend who collects them, I saw the guitar and I go "HOLY SHIT!!" Hahaha. The whole place went quiet and everyone looked at me! Haha. I didn't have a camera on me, though, which sucked. I meant to go back and snap a photo, but we never got back there.

After 10 listenings or so, I'd say it would be a great album for any random Queensryche school prog band, but it's an average album for Queensryche themselves.

I think I'm gonna skip this album for now.
I'll buy it for 99 dollar cents on Ebay. Just wait for a year.

there's no prog-rock on this album, just different degrees of stadium

Yeah, definitely no prog-rock. Maybe there's a little bit of that neo-prog in "A Murderer?" but that's it, and that's a stretch in and of itself. I never found QR to be so progressive as others claim they were. A heavy rock band with a good amount of metal and slight progressive tendencies now and again is what I always viewed them as.
