Excellent review, Dee. You always do a good job of generating enthuasiasm for esoteric music.

Skillz that killz.

You mentioned Trouble. : )

This is a band I've been meaning to look into for a long time. Great review, it's got me thinking. Thanks for that.

If im not mistaken it's not easy scoring a copy of this album anymore. Saint Vitus is pretty much an essential/classic band for anyone wanting to get into traditional doom. Still bands like this, and traditional doom is largely ignored by most people anyway.

I own Born Too Late, and it's a great doom album. Cant go wrong with any Saint Vitus i guess.

Very true.. I'm unable to find any copy from any Saint Vitus album, I can barely find Mp3s to download.. the same thing happens with Pentagram, Cirith Ungol and Manilla Road...
ohh this obscure old-school bands are so hard to find...

...and traditional doom is the least popular metal genre for sure man... Even bands like Solitude Aeturnus are completely ignored....
Only Black Sabbath and Candlemass can be found, it's a shame.

Journey into Mystery is pretty cool, what makes you mention them?

It's slower. :D Also, Mr. Reagers has an entirely different approach to singing than Wino.

I haven't heard many songs off of this album, just the ones on the Heavier Than Thou compilation. I would suggest that album to those having trouble tracking down the debut. It also includes most of Born Too Late, which is a great album in my opinion.

Great review Dee. Keep the doom classics coming!!
