Why else would those people all be so pissed off all the time? It's hot as fuck and all the women are covered up.

105 ? That's like 40 C right ? It's consistently 40 and above here in summer. Can you imagine ?

And I know you probably weren't referring to Turkey but most woman here aren't covered up, thats maybe like %15 of the population. It's just that some American people I know somehow got the impression that we're a middle eastern arabic country swarming with towelheads, that's completely absurd. In fact, turbans have been frobidden here since 1923, but due to our fucking hypocrite government they have resurfaced but that makes a small part of the people, like I said.

Hey Kaathaarian, I knew that Turks weren't Arab. And the Ottoman Empire ist Krieg!

Yeah, look, "some Americans I know" doesn't include anyone on this site, I know you're better than that. But believe me some people do think that way. Remember 24 ? 4th season 1st episode ? Turkish Islamic Terrorists bomb a train and kidnap the Secretary of defense. They speak Arabic, they're palyed by Iranian actors, they have names like Dina, Behruz, Navi which are arabic names and so on... Clearly somebody wanted to give this impression, could the producers be this ignorant ? I doubt it. And some people actually believed this bullshit and see us as an Arabic country. I know you don't, don't worry, I just had to say that.

I follow Dogan. Can I call you that from now on? hah

I know a good bit about the region only because I have interest in the Crusdes, Byzantine, and Ottoman Empires. I certainly didn't find out that Turkish (or Iranian) people weren't Arabs from the American school system.

I did a lotta searching about Crusades and Byzantine (and Rome for that matter) too. They do teach us these things thoroughly but the part about culture is always overlooked. Interesting stuff.

Awesome. Do you know (or anyone else) anything about the Fourth Crusade? Basically the Crusaders were supposed to attack Egypt, but ended up sacking Constantinople and destroying any hope of Byzantinum holding back the Turkish advance. So the Fourth Crusade was all about killing other Christians.

IV Crusade happens to be my favourite. It was doomed from the beginning anyway. It only served the purpose of making some people rich and speeded up the fall of Constantinople.

Awesome. They should be teaching American kids that kind of history, instead of America's boring short history. It might give them some perspective.

I did an amateur research on the crusades 2 years ago, in a catholic private school.... God that was SO satisfying to see they're faces when I started bashing the violent christians... but the american school system is, IMO, fucked up. Like, totally.

Ok but your missing the point, it is SUPPOSED to be hot in Turkey. It is NOT supposed to be that hot in Denver. In the one hundred some year history of the city, it has never reached 105 degrees. And when you are in a steel vehicle for 10 hours a day 105 degrees is more like 83647235235 degrees. We are about 8,000 feet above sea level and well north of the equator yet last summer we had weeks on end over 100. Something is definately fucked up. And no I wasn't reffering to Turkey, but then again I don't really care either.

Something is definitely fucked up because it isn't supposed to be that hot here too. The climate has completely changed.

Someone gave me one of the previously mentioned affirming nods today for my Dr. Shrinker shirt. At first I thought it was really cool because they're not all that well-known, even among metalheads, but when I mentioned it to my brother he goes "Did he mean the band or the TV show?" So I don't know if it was cool or not.

I feel the same way, but I refuse to let the bastards win. Every crowd surfer either gets allowed to fall or a punch in the crotch. Moshers are tripped up.
