I agree with Jay, but Destiny is the song that has converted most of the ppl I've helped into the metal world. Might have something to do with the video you can download on kazaa where it's played as a Final Fantasy tribute.

Is definitely a great album (the song "Destiny" itself is incredible)and deserves a lot !!!! But I think I like Elements better...

I don't think either Elements albums are classics, nor Destiny.

The only Stratovarius album I would consider classic would be "Visions."

Destiny was the first metal album I heard so in my books it's definitely a classic, Visions, Infinite and Episode are with it Stratovarius's finest. Maybe I should try getting into these Elements albums, so far I've failed though there are a few great songs as well.

Why doesn't anyone even mention two of the definite classics that are Twilight Time and Dreamspace. Those two albums are still great and especially Dreamspace is my fav. album of the old Stratos.Infinite is their best but they had very good songs back when Tolkki was singing.
Elements were decent albums with some of their best songs:Eagleheart; Soul Of A Vagabond; I Walk To My Own Song and Dreamweaver.Part 2 was the better one IMO.There will never be another Infinite that is for sure.

Slightly off topic, but this album was released in '98, correct?
How can an album of such recent vintage be a classic?
(I have not heard it, and am not commenting on the content).
I wonder sometimes if the MR team understands what "classic" means.
This is just one example, so do not take this as a critique of the albium in question...
to re-iterate, their are true classics missing from this site, glaringly conspicuous in their absence, so WTF?
V.

Aye! Transilvanian Hunger a classic and no Burzum mentioned?

Sorry for bringing this old topic up, but I have to say that if you love melodic power metal, go get this album ASAP !

This indeed is a power metal classic and their best album by far.
The moment I heard the opening on the title track, I was sold.

From 1998 to this date I still listen to it couple times a week and I still love it.

But remember, this is just my opinion.... :)

Never cared much about Stratovarius, when you have power metal bands like Blind Guardian, Helloween, Lost Horizon, Kamelot....

The two posts above me are both (as Rad would say) bollocks! This album is good, not a classic (even for power metal alone). And, Strato are one of the best in the genre along side BG, Kamelot, Helloween...

I pranced all over your mom last night with my one eyed unicorn. It was a magical experience.

I went ahead and downloaded the song "Destiny" after looking through this song...definitely an incredible song. About the rest of the album, though, I don't know...
