my friend says that isis's bassist told here they wrote an 18 minute and a 20 minute long song, which are definitely not on the leak (unless they did some pretty extreme editing of some pretty crappy songs). so i think it isn't real. I hope its not just so I get 2 albums of Tool this year :D

Wow, I'd love to hear tracks at that length. If this was a joke, I think it was pretty clever of them.

I bought it and I love it so, so far the best of the year by a couple of miles at least.

A 5 song album being your favorite with almost half the year gone by? Weird.

Well this sucks. Hope they come up with some new material, and fast. Four more years and I won't care about them anymore.

well even if you just take the outstandingly awesome parts of the album

Vicariouos
Jambi Up to the uncool guitar solo
Wings For Marie/10,000 Days
Rosetta Stoned
Intention
Right in Two

you still get a good 45-55 minutes of awesome music.... which is more than any other album can come close to (The new Devin Townsend album is second with about 20 minutes of awesome music and 40 minutes of good music). Not to mention the art on the album, which is worth 2x the price of the album alone and I hope it gets released in some sort of poster form.

BTW its a good idea to listen to 10,000 Days 5 or so times before coming to any kind of conclusion, I didn't like it my first few listens either but then it all grew on me a lot.

I love this album! Definately best when you have time to devote to the entire album without outside distractions.

Vicarious
Jambi
Wings/10000 Days
The Pot
Lost Keys
Rosetta Stoned
Intension
Right in Two

These are all well worth listening to with only 2 bullshit tracks (Lipan and Viginti. The only questionable song is Lost Keys, but I still really like it as an intro into Rosetta. One of my favorite albums of the year and surpassing Devin Townsend's as my favorite alt metal album 06.

Just to show off...

Saw them live and they kill. Vicarious and the new songs were awesome. They seemed really Meshuggah-influenced, but they still sound like Tool. Can't wait to get 10,000 days.

I bought the album last night, and I have to say that I am impressed. It picks up right where Lateralus left off, and I feel that's a good thing. I've listened to it about 6 times now, and I find myself liking it more and more. I love the atmosphere the album projects.

I just got this yesterday. Some tracks were written around the time of Lateralus and it shows. Lipan Conjuring and Vigniti Tres work quite well on the album, like the interludes on Aenima. Too bad they don't do songs about anal sex anymore thou :) gh
