Hey.Cool to see the a member on the board. Excellent album man. I wish it would have stirred more remarks, but great album nonetheless. I ordered mine from Sonic Age and just took the lumps for US shipping after hearing samples. It was well worth it. Maybe the greatest album cover of 2005 by the way. Great Tunes!

Thanks man! Hope you'll drop by the website and maybe join FORCE RECON to help us promote!

More people will reply once THE END gets its restock. They didn't order enough in their first shipment and sold out in 3 days. Since I'm assuming most metalreviews members are North American I'm thinking once the restock comes in and people can order it they'll be adding their thoughts.

BTW, as I understand it THE END should be re-llisting it either Friday or Monday.

As far as the artwork, it is getting great praise. Two reviewers at www.maximummetal.com named it "Best artwork of 2004" (technically released Dec 17th) and our label is preparing a vinyl version in great part to show off the artwork.

My pleasure Mark! You can also link my review of the 2000 demo if you'd like as I didn't see that one on your site......

GREAT album - that was my top pick of 2004 in fact. I gave it a spin in the car yesterday after not listening to it for a while (unfortunately, reviewing duties often prevent me from spinning my favourite albums for a while) and I was headbanging like a moron in the car.

Now if The End can restock so I can order it - promos are cool but I prefer the real thing. 8)

Hails!

Hey, thanks for the great words and cool stories...

Hey Silent Man, we all need a GF who likes metal. Find a way to clone her, or at least her music tastes, OK? Ha!

And BTW, as of today THE END has the CD back in stock!

They also got in the vinyl re-releases of the Manilla Road ablums and the new PERPETUAL CD from Sonic Age.

Indeed, Return of the Snow Giant is a kick ass record. I've had it for over a month now and still can't go more than a couple days without playing it. It's so refreshing to hear something new that still has that strong 80s flavor!

Damn, Mark, you sure do get around! I got a kick out of seeing you post here too. We've talked previously over on the Ultimate Metal Old School boards.

Hail Trans! Yeah, the "anti social" one, right? ;-) Thanks for the words! When people read things like " I've had it for over a month now and still can't go more than a couple days without playing it. " that's a great way to build the buzz.

Yeah I try to get around. Call me a "one man underground guerilla marketing machine". And man, I got more ideas than i have time to execute. Though with FORCE RECON and people like yourself kicking in to help promote it helps make up for it for sure.

BTW, I'm lisening to the new CD from PERPETUAL, released on our label last week. I must say it is really very good on first listen. Do be sure to check it out!

Yep, I'd be the anti-social one! That Perpetual does sound really good, from the one song available. I also want to get that Valkija band. Alas, if only I was wealthy enough to buy everything I wanted when I wanted it. Both of those bands are on my wish list though!

Fly high and rock on, my friend!

Hail the forum!

A song from RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT received what I believe is its first airing on a U.S. Radio show (airwave radio, not online radio). Or at least its first airplay on a commercial U.S. radio station.

I just found out today that we were aired last Friday, Feb 11, on WDHA’s METAL MANIA, voted best metal show in NJ. The show recently expanded from a one hour show to a two hour show.

Here is the link to last week’s playlist. It will only be good until Monday, Feb 21st when they post tonights playlist.

http://www.wdhafm.com/airforce/Matt/Metalmania/mm.htm

If anyone is in the WDHA 105.5 FM (Dover, NJ) area be sure to listen and request us. The request line is (973) 480-1055

The show starts at 11pm every Friday night and runs until 1:00am.

Huzzah!!!!

Cool…Have you talked to him since February? Is he airing it?

I still need to link the Metal Reviews reviews on the Overlorde site. I finally had to issue our PRESS RELEASE last night without adding the new review links. It had been exactly two months since the last Press release. Seemed like everytime I wanted to do one I didn't because I had so many new reviews to add. So I finally bit the bullet and proceeded without.

Here is the Press Release, BTW…

OVERLORDE PRESS RELEASE: For immediate distribution MARCH/10/2005

So much has happened in the past 2 months since the last Overlorde Press Release. Visit www.overlorde.com , CURRENT NEWS for all the news but here are some of the highlights...

HEAVY, ODER WAS!? issue # 80, March/April 2005 included a GREAT surprise! Not only did they include their 1/2 page interview with Overlorde's M.E., but they included RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT in its SOUNDCHECK feature. Twelve (12) reviewers rated seventy three (73) CDs and they were ranked by the average rating. Overlorde came in an astonishing NUMBER TWO!!!!

A two page interview with Overlorde's M.E. is also in the current issue of Holland's HEADACHE magazine!

Not to be overlooked, Germany's UNBROKEN METAL has given the CD a "Perfect 10" rating in the current issue (the only perfect rating in the issue) and LEGACY gave it 14/15!

Sweden's largest rock/metal radio show is going to be airing an Overlorde song this weekend, on Saturday March 12th. So those of you in the listening area, or who can stream online, can check it out. The show starts approximately 6:00pm CET and an archive file can be downloaded during the following week. The website is http://www.sr.se/p4/dist. The DJ is Andreas Matz, the show name is DIST.You can see his prior week playlists by clicking on SPELLICITOR.

RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT Vinyl and Digipak coming soon! Also full size Poster! Read about it at http://www.sonicagerecords.com

Overlorde's debut European show is fast approaching on April 2nd. Check www.keep-it-true.de for the band order , etc.

Overlorde's new forums are now open!

CENTURY MEDIA is now distributing the CD in North and South America!

Thanks to EVERYONE who attended the "Online Chat and CD Listening Party" that was held on January 15th. Lots of people attended and a great time was held by all! Special thanks to www.gospel.org for providing the chat room and Bad Attitdue Radio for streaming the CD. Please stop by and check them out! The transcript will posted soon.

THE END USA sold out of their first shipment of Overlorde CDs in just three days last month, and U.S. fans were unable to order it while The End waited for a restock shipment. That shipment arrived recently and the CD can now be ordered either through THE OMEGA (The End's Online mailorder) or by asking your local record store to get it from THE END. Other U.S. Mailorders like METALDISC also carry it.

WDHA FM's METAL MANIA aired SNOW GIANT on Friday, Feb 11th. Overlorde thanks DJ Matt Murray for continuing the tradition of Metal Mania's support for Overlorde, which began when Metal Mania's Cheryl Richardt supported the band in 1987. If you live in the WDHA listening area (Northern NJ) be sure to listen and request Overlorde each Friday night during the show!

Overall RETURN OF THE SNOW GIANT has been getting unbelievable reviews. Here is a sampling of other great reviews not already mentioned above.

HEAVY, ODER WAS?! (Germany) 12/12
HEADACHE (Holland) 10/10
METAL HAMMER (Italy) 6/6
TERRORIZER (UK) 9/10
SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE 9/10
ROCK HARD (Germany) 8.5/10 and 5th place of 41 CDs reviewed in SOUND CHECK feature
METAL HAMMER (Greece) 8/10
www.metalgospel.org : Best CD of 2004!
www.metalcrypt.com : Best CD of 2004 (Cryptkeeper's pick)

I listened to some samples and it has petential and is energetic, but it feels cheap with crappy production and awkward vocals which make it sound even cheesier than it already is. Maybe with better production and non fantasy themes this would be a lot better. Vocals need some work, training and polish.
