hey Jay

I read the review and feel like checking these guys out.

But first I wanna ask you, if moonsorrow is any similar to bands like Turisas, Finntroll og other great folk metal bands ?

Unless they differ significantly, I will probably buy their record blindly.. since Finnish plus (Folk) Metal usually equals YEAH !

It's not their weakest album. For me, their second album is the weakest. This one is very different in terms of its scale from the previous albums. It's truly an epic in every sense of the word.

Ulrik: They're not similar to Finntroll at all. Tursias is getting closer but not quite. If you do like folk/black metal from Finland, it's hard to go wrong with Moonsorrow. Check out some samples online but you should like their music.

Yes if you like those bands you can blindly buy the entire catalogue!
I suggest you
also blindly purchase the following bands!
Flakenbach
Bathory (some releases)
Thyrfing
Butterfly Temple
Forefather
XIV Dark Centuries
Equilibrium (to be released very similar to Moonsorrow and Finntrollz)

Man I'm so keen to get my hands on this. While all their releases have been great, Kivenkantaja was just killer. Hail Moonsorrow!

Of those, Falkenbach and especially XIV Dark Centuries are the ones that interest me most... Great Bands!!

Actually, I like the second and third ones the best, then the first one and then this new one, which hasn't grabbed me in the same way as the others yet......

Well, I consider it to be the other way around: I think Verisäkeet is their best album with Voimasta ja Kunniasta, followed by Kivenkantaja, Suden Uni (although a masterpiece) at last position.

What I think about it:
1. Voimasta Ja Kunniasta
2. Kivenkantaja
3. Verisäkeet
4. Suden Uni

Voimasta... has the really epic stuff imo, the best they made.
