Sure they do, violence is involved in all, whether real or not.

The ECW pay per view was pretty kickass. Seeing Cena get heckled like he did and then pinned was great, as was Tazz fucking up Lawler. My highlight, though, was Sandman mercilessly shitkicking Eugene with his kendo stick. I laughed till I cried.

I'm as happy in a pig in shit. The ECW was the shit back in the 90's, and another night of wrestling a week is fine by me. I haven't seen the PPV yet, I'll wait for the DVD as always, but RAW should be interesting tonight. I wonder if they'll hold the title up, or just let RVD have it and kick the WWe/ECW war off right. I think Cena needed to go eithier way, the crowd turned on him a long time ago. I'd like to see Edge get the title back at Vengeance, he would be a nice change to a stale title scene.

And sure wrestling, boxing, and MMA can be discussed in the same thread. They are all fighting, and basically draw the same fans. I like all three, and am sure I'm not the only one.

hmm, i guess.

John Cena - frankly, i like him. really. he's strong, he keeps a good pace going in his matches and he does quite a few different moves.

i can't believe the likes of kane and big show get applauses while he gets booed all the time.

if anything, i got tired of seeing him as the champ. that aside, he's still cool.

ECW return - i just hope sic radical gets the rights to that as well :/

I don't know, to each his own I guess. Byrd has bored me to tears on multiple occasions, and I was glad that Drago ERRRR Klitschko handed him his ass. I don't know why Byrd annoys me, it isn't because he's technical and not exciting. So's Winky, and he's one of my favorites (the essence of the sweet science in my opinion). Its something else I just can't put my finger on. Oh well, now that he's done hovering over a division that's watered down, at best, maybe things can move forward. I didn't see that Ruiz v. Chernobyl Baby fight, but I heard it was a travesty as well and that Ruiz should've won. That said, Ruiz just needs to retire.

Boring fighters aren't the problem. The corruption of the sport is, that's why I can't complain about the boxers. And if you hate Byrd, I can't see why you'd like Winky. Hehehe. They're both just as boring to watch. Hehe.

Still, I like Byrd and I like how he'd actually get in there with someone as big as Wlad.

Maybe we could split these then? TNA/WWE in one thread, UFC/Boxing in another. The real shit in one, fake shit in another? Personally I don't think it matters, but...

...on a side note, have any of you ever seen Insane Clown Posse's Stranglemania DVDs? If not you should check them out. They're HILARIOUS! The took footage from wrestling over in Japan and then commentated over it like they were there. I'm telling you, it's funny as hell. Definitely worth checking out.

Nah. It's my thread and it doesn't bother me. Less bandwith usage and such.

I haven't seen the Stranglemania DVD's, but the Juggalo Championshit Wrestling DVD's were completely unfunny.

Those were different, I didn't like the JCW stuff either. Too amatuerish, I could see that shit down the street from my house, you know? The Stranglemania videos are really funny, though.

By the way, here are the highlights from the Hopkins/Tarver fight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEkAE3PBKqQ&search=hopkins%20tarver

You'll see that it was a much more entertaining fight that people assumed it would be. Hopkins dominated from round 1. Tarver just had nothing in return. Tarver swore he'd KO Hopkins by round 5, but as you'll see Hopkins almost KO'd Tarver in round 5. There was a "technical" knockdown (glove hit the canvas), but look at Tarver's face when the ref is counting to 8, he was done. Any chance of winning was gone when he almost got KO'd and he knew it.

Well, like I said, I really don't know why I dislike Byrd, I just do. The sport has been and will continue to be corrupt (phantom punch anyone?), but if there's excitement and good rivalries (Ali-Frazier, etc.) then people tend to forget about the dirty side.

Because his wife is disgusting and looks like the evil, disfugured inverse of Tea Leoni? And does nothing but scream and shout nonsense into his corner between rounds? Or because his corn rows never stay in during a fight and by the end of round 3 he looks like a homeless man who just tumbled down a mountain?

I'll tell you what would wake them up, a fight like Tarver and Hopkins just had. I won't spoil it for you, but it was a pretty entertaining match. Catch a replay if you can find it.

I read round by round on line. Sounds like Milk Dud got his ass whipped by the old man, big time. I wish he would have KTOF Tarver but a whipping is even worse. Go Bernard. Jez how far down the toilet was/is Roy Jones after Hopkins just owned Tarver?

Hopkins beat Tarver silly! Knocked him down in round 5, too. Hopkins could have KO'd him, but you know how Hopkins rolls, always cautious.

Here's what I posted on the BI forum:

Quote:
Tarver is NOT a good fighter. He chased Jones his entire career, did the homework it would take to beat Jones—like a fighter should do against EVERY fighter, not just one. He did well in the first fight with Jones because he was helped by Jones' weight loss and he landed a brilliant punch in the second fight, and there it is: the one punch wonder. That sustained him through the third fight, too, but again, no "magic."

Regardless of how much skill and precision it took to land that punch against Jones, it was a lucky punch. Why? Because he's not a good fighter and he's had people fooled since because of that punch and other circumstances that have nothing to do with his skill. He fooled people, he talked a lot of trash and somehow convinced people that he was destined to be a legend, but the fact remains that he is not a good fighter. He COULD be a great fighter if he consistently showed the passion and dedication he showed with his career-stalking of Roy Jones Jr., but in the end he just does not have what it takes to be a great. His inability to take out Jones in the first and third fight was proof enough, his first loss to Johnson was further proof and this schooling by way of Hopkins is sweet, delicious icing. Hopkins was JACKED, Tarver was flabby. No dedication. He was dedicated to one thing in his "legendary" career: beating Jones. That's it. He thought Jones was his meal ticket—and for a while it was—but outside of those fights with Jones, Tarver has consistently proven that he is a B-Level fighter; the only "magic" he's ever possessed he expended in one brilliantly place left hook. ONE TIME.

He gets credit for "flapping his lips" and making it entertaining (especially before round 1 in the second fight with Jones), for riding that wave to Hollywood and selling Stallone some real estate on his nutsac, but Tarver is a joke and you fags need to realize this. If Hopkins wasn't so goddamn cautious he would have KO'd Tarver last night. I said he would do it, no one believed me, but you all saw that it COULD have happened. Damn you, Hopkins! Damn you to hell.

Fuck Tarver. I hope he retires and drifts away like Larry Merchant's sobriety.

It isn't wether Tarver is good or not he just wasted too much time in the Ameatures and was old by the time he got to the Pros. Lucky punch my ass, Tarver learned lessons against Harding and came back and beat him, did the same to Roy and you know the 1st fight could have gone either way. There is no lucky punch, especailly not that one.

Ruiz is garbage and got gifts himself, the Valuve thing was a shit fest and Ruiz didn't convincingly beat him. Shit, Ruiz, the man to lose the Heavyweight title twice to ex middle weights.....good riddance.

Re-read what I said, I'm not saying the punch itself was lucky, but lucky for him that it landed.

Ruiz should never have been put in with Jones. Anyone with half a brain knew that he would not have beaten Jones unless he could land a solid punch, which he almost did in round 4 and buckled Jones' legs. The same with Toney, he was also too slick, although Ruiz was blistering his ass when he stayed on the outside. And he CLEARLY beat Valuev.

Fact: Ruiz is Garbage. So know you are saying since he was a paper champ he should only be put in with people he can beat? That my friend is what is wrong with boxing........

Neither him or Valuev deserved to Win and Ruiz deserved it for other gifts he got. Fuck him, he should have retired when Tua wasted his ass.

Now THIS is more like the leee I know, not understand what I'm saying! Ruiz was under no obligation to fight Jones, why did his team agree to the fight? It was stupid. That's what I'm saying. Regardless of whether boxing is corrupt the boxer's trainers and legal team needs to make good choices for the fighter. Fighting faster, smaller, slicker counter-punching fighters is not the right fights for a slow, plodding, heavyweight with limited power. They were bad career moves, and that is part of boxing, always has been.

A lot of Ruiz's supposed losses that he was given W's for were arguably true wins. People just hate him so much they're in denial. Trust me, I'm no Ruiz fan, either.

Take no notice of him, and relax in the knowledge that you are comfortable in your own sexuality, whilst he has to watch men grappling to keep his own disgusting urges under control. Some hobby!
