Hitting (and im talking bottom smacking or something equally not-that-bad) can work, but you gotta do it right.

That video made me feel homicidal and on the verge of tears at the same time.

Although I've always been a proponent of beating animal abusers with a cat o' nine tails (poetic justice, and all that), I don't have a problem with leather and fur, and I eat meat every day. As I said before, you can't believe the crap that PETA puts out. I wouldn't count on anything they say or produce as being accurate.

On a personal anecdote level, my mom worked in a slaughterhouse for awhile when I was younger, and she still eats meat. There's a problem with people in the western world nowadays being disconnected from food. People see meat in packages in the grocery store and have no idea where it comes from, other than "cow" or "pig." Two years ago when I was working at Petsmart, my co-workers and I were having a conversation about dog food and meat byproducts; they didn't know what that meant. I told them it was organ meat and the like, and one girl asked what "meat" is. She was shocked when I told her it's muscle tissue. Collectively, we have no idea how animals fit together or where this stuff comes from on them. Yes, when you eat rump roast, you're eating cow butt. There's blood and organs and tendons and eyes and fur involved in slaughtering animals for hides or meat. Such is life.

You're absolutely true. I as raised up that way. My parents aren't abusive, but they always punish me when I screw up. My mum used to slap me and hit me with the cane. ANd frankly I grew afraid of it that I didn't dare to fail my next exam. It helped me to be a disciplined person.

My cousins on the other hand, don't get anything when they screw up. Their dad just yells at them. Mum just trries to be a good mommie and advises them. And frankly, they're pretty spoilt. Very spoilt in fact. The eldest dick has got no intentions of continuing his studies in the future. He's screwed himself a lot lately. And right now his mum regrets using corporal punishment much earlier.

On a more serious note. A few years ago at a festival I almost got into a fight with a drunken father slapping his 4-5 year old son and almost ripping his arm off. I told the father that if he wanted to fight he could at least pick a target that could offer som resistance. I barely finished the sentence before the fucker took a swing at me. Even though I could have kicked his ass (being much larger, younger and sober) I just parried the punch and pushed him back. It probably wouldn't improve the poor little boys day to watch me beating his father up.

Animal abuse is despicable. But one must be careful not to be hysterical. I shoot and clean animals when it is season for that and I eat meat daily. Vegans and vegetarians talking about 'killing nature' and stuff like that should get a grip and start thinking about what nature is actually all about.
