You find Hurt to be uplifting? That's weird.

I wouldn't say it's the most depressing, but I've always found Alice in Chains' "Dirt" to be pretty high on the list.

Anything from Xasthur or Nortt would be up there as well. Maybe Forest Stream, but it's been a long time since I listened to that...

I've always found Xasthur and Nortt to be more peaceful than depressing.

 I actually got freaked out the first time I heard Xasthur. I was driving to work at 4:00 in the morning. It was pitch black and it was so foggy I couldn't see 5 ft. in front of me. I had just put in "A Curse for the Lifeless" and, Holy Crap! I was scared shitless. It was awesome.

I did the same thing the next day, but without the fog.

Is there something wrong with me if I find Silent Enigma happy? And my vote for most depressing is Like Gods Of The Sun by My Dying Bride

Burzum and Noenum get pretty depressive as well, agreed on that.

Have you heard the new Velvet Cacoon, Dizzy from Eternity?

I never interpret music depressing, cause i just dont want to. But Nargaroth-Rasluka I, II and seven tears flowing to the river are very emotional.

Jarboe's solo albums have some very disturbing stuff. Like "The Cage" on "Anhedoniac".

Yes, but it's not depressing. It's ok to good, but not as brilliant as How The Last Day Came And Stayed Then Faded Into Simulated Rain.

Right here. I was just asking... I don't know very many depressing albums. I was just curious.

I find GY!BE's f#a# (infinity) album to be quite depressive. That entire album is just gloomy as all hell.

Aaaand. uuuuummm... The Gorillaz self titled album is pretty depressing for me because of personal reasons.

I know there are definately more, but I just can't remember them right now.

Cool. You know, I do suggest to get your hands on Agalloch - The Mantle, Dolorian - Dolorian and Katatonia - Dance of December Souls.

I've always found Nevermore's Dreaming Neon Black album very emotional, not just because of the storyline - there's a certain unpleasant atmosphere about it I can't really put my finger on that makes it quite unsettling. In fact, this is the reason why I don't listen to it much, despite it being one of my fave Nevermore releases.
