King appearing in his own book. What the hell? So there aren't infinite worlds, just lots of sort-of made up ones that lead back to a single one? There's a 'real world'? I don't like this at all.

Well, hopefully I'll enjoy the final book.

EDIT:
And while I'm at it, what's this bullshit in Wolves of the Calla with ''Flagg who was Marten who was Walter''. Since when were Marten and Walter the same guy? In fact, I specifially remember Roland being shocked as hell at the end of The Gunslinger "you're not Marten at all...you're Walter!" Fuck! Stop passivley dismissing stuff you really built up earlier in the series, Steve! [/rant]

Song was definitely the worst of the series. As for the whole Walter/Marten thing, old Stevie did a fucking ridiculous retcon and re-published the Gunslinger, changing it so that Walter and Marten were the same person. Completely stupid, that Stephen can be sometimes.

I remember talking to you about that re-publishing a few months back (when I first picked up The Gunslinger). I suspected that to be the reason.

I have only read Choke, but I urge you to read it. Very twisted and unique plot, full of curious details (which may or may not be true, I don't know) and just packed with coolness.

dammit, went to fnac and only had 30 minutes to find a book or two to take to the trip.

i searched for
Palahniuk - Choke
Pamuk - My name is red
Neil Gaiman - Neverwhere

none of them were in stock..

i'd have bought "the historian", "invisible monsters" or something by HP Lovecraft, but i'm a cheap bastard and i take almost an hour (no kidding) to decide if i should buy a book or not, and that was time i did not have at the time.

my aunt lent me "The Noble House" by James Cavell to read on my trip tomorrow.

it's summer, which means it's time for me to re-read many many fantasy books. A few authors: Tolkien, Martin, Brooks, May and a serie of books about King Arthur.
