These guys contacted us a few weeks ago, I really like this EP, very Canopy-ish with more of a death metal groove, than straight up melodic death metal. I didn't mind the clean vocals at all, I thought they sounded fine, but I also sensed a little of that metalcore approach with the growled verse, sung chorus. Of course, metalcore has likely just jaded us all.

Definitely a worthy band.

There wasn't anything distinctly unpleasant, but like I said nothing to seperate them from the many other similar acts out there. The guitar work was a bit uninspiring, no particular riffs grabbed me - the thing I usually like about death metal is the complexity which accompanies the signature vocals, and I didn't encounter that. All the songs were pretty short, pretty formulaic and after repeated listens, pretty dull.

Like I said, I'd be interested in hearing a full album to see if they could take there basic sound further and accomplish something that's likely to make waves.

I can't disagree, really. I'm into groovier death metal myself, but I find nothing here as a good enough foundation for me to go against your words, you know? I liked it, but yeah, nothing mindblowing or original.
