@leee: Switzerland is expensive because we're a well off country (despite having suffered from slow growth for the last 5 years), we have higher taxes because it's a more social system, more money goes to hospitals ecc, there are few homeless people in switzerland, and it's CLEAN! yes, we are a hygenic people!

Europe is more social, we pay higher taxes cuz our hospitals and schools get more money. We do no trip over homeless people in the streets, and there is very little gang culture (except maybe the english soccer fans). My least favourite european country is italy (non prendertela, eh dago?), I find it unhygenic and disorganized. only good thing is the Pizza and Luca Turilli.
so leee, don't try to say that europe is more fucked up than the states, because that is not true. there are like 100 gun murders in europe every year, in canada like 1 a year, and in the usa something like 5000 annualy. so just shut up.

maybe that's the way it goes in Switzerland and all, but i can say from own experiences that there is a pretty big, and still growing gang existence. In belgium, which is supposed to be this 'Eden', i hear 'shocking' things about the gangs daily. Our cities are starting to become battlefields, our capital is a melting pot of over 14 foreign minorities, that are starting to get pissed that a lot of 'real' Belgians complain about them. In two months we had: a stabbing of a teenager by a 16 and 18 year olds, for a fucking MP3 player! Then we had a guy who got kicked out of school, so he decided to kill a black nanny AND ironically enough a white little girl and seriously injured a Turkish woman. And the latest incident was the beating up a train conductor on a bus by 8 minors from Morocco. And this is just the things that got media attention, and i didn't start on gang incidents. We have a regular war between gangs from Congo and gangs from the Middle-East. So for fur European Utopia

I've only ever been to Canada, France and the US. France had so many smokers everywhere it was painful, and in public places to, icky. In the US everyone just seemed more rude, but that might have just been because it was in a big city, I remember people in Vancouver being kind of like that too.

Italy is like that because of all the people that are immigrating here.
From libya, marocco, tunisia, albania, romania and many other african countries. Everybody can enter our nation by boat and fuck it up as much as they want to.
In Switzerland instead if you do not have a passport or whatever, you can get the fuck out, or you get shot.
I am not being racist here i am just saying that Switzerland is being real selfish towards the immigrate problem.

not exactly true. we host refugees, tons of 'em. only problem is, they're not allowed to have jobs. they're supposed to rely on the social help (which is efficient) but naturally they all want more money so they start dealing drugs. then they get arrested.

Belgium has the same problem as Italy. The previous generations of immigrants were brought here to work in mines and shit like that. Now every mine is shut, the hardworking generation is retired or dead, and 70-85% of the immigrants young generation is lazy, rude, totally out of control and causing various problems. Not that the 'decent' belgians are helping, oh no, they decided to vote for a 'national-socialistic' party, which is in this case just a party founded and leaded by neo-nazies and fascists. Worst thing is that they have 4-5 youth groups that come very close to the Blood&Honour hroup that is operating in Europe. And lately, it seems that more than 10% of the Belgians(that can vote) vote for those parties.

yeah it's really depressing. Strange this is, with that racist political party and their voters, plus the recent events you'd think the flow of immigrants would stop but noooooo, they keep coming. I'm not saying they can't come here but let's face it, their arrival will be lead to the fact that the racist party will get power, and that won't really make the life of immigrants easier. I mean, polling shows that a whopping 89% of the police force votes for the VB(the racist party). You really want those on the streets, for everyone's safety, now would you? :?

Wow, that's a pretty serious problem. Luckily, we haven't resorted to out and out facism when it comes to our immigration problem, although this whole country is slowly going to the facists.

It's becoming a problem in almost every western country, and those latest incidents in Libanon etc. are just fuel on the fire. I just hope the other western countries make the mistake we did, to agree with all the other political sides never to govern with the VB. Since then, it could get voters just by playing the victim-role and taking adventage of the problems with immigrants. All they need is a charismatic leader and we got nazi-belgium in a decade! :evil:

Of course the average European knows more about the world than the average American. Wanna know why? All the Americans learn in high school level history classes is America's brief history. Europeans learn the rest too, and don't fill their time doing dumb stuff like memorising all fifty states. I don't know where you get the fantasy land idea either, but yeah, compared to America it must be fantastic living here.

And comparing Europe to the world having seen one city of it is far beyond stupid.
