Hmm i like this a bit. Although its a little too powerish-flowerish for my tastes. I also prefer the new Korpiklaani.

Ill have to listen to this some more before giving my rating.

It is a little flowerish compared to what you're used to, but if you can get past that it's a great album. My #1 of the year still.

I've been listening this some more and it really grew on me, it can't surpass Korpiklaani tho. What surprised me is that now among my other fav. songs I can add On The Morning Dew and Disillusion's Reel too. I think i'm going soft...well softer.
Anyway, what i wanted to know is are there any songs like those 2 in Elvenking previous albums or any other folk band, catchy acoustic folk songs ?

Wanna fight about it?

By the way, since when do Americans say "shite"? :D

So I understand they are not as good as the 2 from The Winter Wake, right ?

Will do, although I have no idea how neofolk sounds. It may not be what i'm looking for. Thanks anyway.

Ive only really checked out Of the Wand and the Moon so far. That band is just acoustic stuff and a bit of ambience, but with negative lyrics, not upbeat like elvenking.

Check out Glittertind, upbeat punk/folk music.

Ok, I went to Elvenking's myspace a week or so ago, listened to The Wanderer, and been hooked ever since. I love that song. Are all the songs on this album that good?

If you intend on buying their albums, check out Leprechaun, too (http://www.leprechaun.it).

Pretty much.. The first 4 songs on the new album are my favorite, the acoustic ballad is actually really good and the bonus cover of Skyclad's Penny Dreadful is awesome. The rest of the songs are good too, I just havent fully gotten into the rest of it. If you like The Wanderer you should definately just check out the album.

Its the best one on the album! There are 2 folks song which are catchy as fuck, and a few more in the veinf of the wanderer, then a few 'epic chorus' type pm songs. Still sound folky, just not as much as the others.

Overall, just fuckin buy it dude. Money well spent.

Yes. Get Heathenreel and The Winter Wake, but avoid Wyrd. Also check out Leprechaun (Damnagoras' old band) like Ken said, but listen to Elvenking first.

It's alright, I just think they avoided their sound on Heathenreel to much. It's not a bad album by any means, it's just kind of boring.
