Wow, great list Frigid. I haven't heard many of those bands and that's exactly why it's great, it means i have lots of new music to check. Folk metal rulez and when it's done good it simply slays. You forgot to add Finntroll on that list.

that's because I never heard finntroll. I've got it downloading at like 95% but it's taking a looong time...

that's because I never heard finntroll. I've got it downloading at like 95% but it's taking a looong time...

You should definitely hear some Finntroll. Even their acoustic album Visor Om Slutet have some great folk tunes.

I have Einherjer's Odin Owns Ye All, and damn if that's not a great album. Scandanavian drinking music at it's finest. I've gotten blitzed to that one more times than I can count.

I think i have Tuoni by them somewhere. I remember not being to impressed by it but i'll have to dig it out and give it another listen and see.

Yggdrasil - Download I Nordens Rike Fridegey, its good folk stuff. All recorded winds howling and acoustics.

Now, onto Drudkh. Do you like Burzum Fridge? Because there is a lot of Burzum in there. And Hate Forest i guess (ive only got Sorrow.) I dont know, can anyone else think of any bands that have such a hypontic/calming quality?

This is just far to heavy for me. I normally can let folk metal bands off but when the guy started singing i just laughed. They remided me of skyforger but with a lot more folk. Its probably that the vocals in those two bands make me laugh more than anything.
