I'm thinking of getting a Paypal so I can purchase things online. I do download alot of shit, but only because I cant purchase it. I do own over 100 albums however for all those download hatas. Anyways, my questions: Does anyone here have a paypal? If yes, is it trustworthy? Ive heard stories of money disappearing from accounts and this worries me a tad and if yes to both, would you consider it a worthwhile thing to obtain?

Hells yes, as long as you're careful and don't buy into the bogus e-mails and make sure you're using a trustworthy seller then go for it.

Its so much easier than writing cheques or whatever.

The thing is that money is never 'in' a paypal account to be lifted. It goes from your own account through paypal to the seller's account. And apparently they've got all the best shit to prevent h4x.

Yeah, I know, I made the sale.

Edit: Hmmm it looks like I was talking to Dawgan there, doesn't it? Weird post-time coincidence.

Do what I did, just to be safe. Open a separate savings account and use that for Paypal only. Savings accounts are free here (not sure about where you're at). I do online banking and have that account connected to my main two accounts and just transfer the exact amount that I need.

That way, in the off chance that I fuck up and enter my info into one of those fake hacker sites, they ain't getting shit from me. Yeah, they'd have my Paypal info, which would suck, but it would only lead them to an empty bank account. Plus, Paypal can sometimes freeze accounts and shit, especially if you start buying from fraudulent sellers, and you don't want them to have access to a bank account with all your cash in it.

If you buy something with paypal for like $12, transfer $12 to that savings account and no one can fuck your shit up.
