In fairness they're often like that on the continent as well. It's only we British that have proper cinema ettiquette

Sorry, America!

I'm just pissed off that I only heard the first half of Sam's big line because halfway through it he was drowned out by: "WOOO!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!! MUTHFUCKIN' SNAAAAAKES!!!! WOOOOO!!!!!!!"

I hope that isn't the case when I see it tomorrow

Anyway, the only foreign cinema I've been to is in France, but I heard it was like that elsewhere as well.

Actually, now I come to think of it, when I went to the horror all-nighters at Leeds Film Festival the audience was very whoopy then as well, sadly encouraged by the staff.

Bad cinema form seems to be spreading

Same happened to me at Halloween 2002. All night horror is a haven for geeks and kiddie goths. Cause HORROR and METAL are so perfect for each other.

Heh. There's always this one same guy in Leeds every time that has to make wisecracks louder than everyone else.

swiss cinema audiences rock. Everyone laughs quitly and shortly at funny stuff, and no-one laughs when a character is speaking.

Saw it the other day...much better than Snakes on a Train.

I only wish that I could have seen it at home, so we could have made more fun of it. The fun of bad movies is to laugh and ridicule, but I tried not to ruin everyone else's good time

Haha, indeed. Me too, so I take great care not to be the asshole who's screaming the whole time...even though I really wanted to because it was SO FUCKING RIDICULOUS.

When I saw Revenge of the Sith, right towards the end where Anakin was burning to a crisp, some fat bitch's phone goes off. AND SHE FUCKING ANSWERED IT! AND STARTED HAVING A REALLY LOUD CONVERSATION! There was a collective scream (myself included) of "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

When I saw it the second time I kept having to tell these kids behind me to be quiet. It went from *angry frown* to "Hey guys, shhhh" to "Hey! Shut the fuck up!"

I can't wait til the DVD so I can be a drunken ass watching it. :)

See, that's why I enjoy the Drive-Inn Theater we have here so much. It's the only way I'll go see a movie anymore. Just me, my chick, alone in the car, totally free to talk amongst ourselves all we want without disturbing anyone else. Nor do we have to hear the annoying cellphone person, nor the inevitable crying baby. You can bring your own food in, even beer and pot if you want to. It's complete bliss, I don't understand why they aren't more common.

Plus, the audio comes in through the your car's radio reciever, how cool is that.

Come on guys, I think audience participation makes the experience all the better for the most part.

Yeah cause what I really want is a crowd of geeks roaring so loud I can't hear what's being said onscreen. Now that's a movie experience.

Thats why I said for the most part because obnoxious laughter can definately be bothersome during a movie, but when the whole crowd is into it but not too into it, then its a good time.

Well yeah that can be tr00.

I like when the whle audience knows that a film sucks and you're all sort of sniggering together at unintentionally funny parts.

On the other hand, I hate when you've got a crowd of little shits that burst out laughing whenever characters get 'emotional.'

Saw it tonight. Totally awesome, I loved this film. And the audience was very civillised. I think I was probably the person there laughing the loudest

"You've got a snake on your ass, yo!"

Gold...

Any sane man would have just kicked back an enjoyed the ride, if you'll pardon the expression.
