Post subject: What Movies Are You Looking Forward To?
PostPosted: Wed Aug 23, 2006 7:03 am
Here's some recent movies I'm looking forward to buying when they come out on DVD (I may have posted some of these elsewhere):

PATHFINDER
Trailer: http://www.pathfinderthemovie.com

This movie looks awesome! The dialogue may suffer because the Indian's seem to be true Indian's and have accents, too often that sort of negates the emotion that the English words should convey, you know? It looks killer, though. There aren't enough Viking movies out there. What was the last modern movie about Vikings? The 13th Warrior?

I also expect it to be light on an in-depth storyline, but it looks like good, mindless fun. The main character looks like the singer of Seether.

MARIE ANTOINETTE
Trailer: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/marieantoinette/index.html

I'm interested in this one, but I don't know, probably a used-bin buy. I like people trying a modern take on an old tale, but incorporating modern pansy band music doesn't make it "modern." I guess, if anything, this is the highest we'll ever see Kirsten Dunst's boobs.

APOCALYPTO
Trailer: http://apocalypto.movies.go.com

I just saw the trailer for this one. It's a Mel Gibson flick and it looks good. I've not heard anything on it, though. The Passion Of The Christ must have brought down his stock in the mainstream media. Crazy. EDIT: Haha. I wrote that on another board prior to his recent "Sugar Tits" Jew debacle. I'm betting on a straight-to-DVD release now.

Anyway, this appears to something of a tribal love story? Warring tribes from like 3,000 years ago and a central love story? At least that's what the trailer makes it seem like. I've also heard it's not in English, there will be subtitles. No idea, though.

THE FOUNTAIN
Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/thefountain/trailer1

This movie looks awesome!! Not quite sure what it's really about, though. Hahaha.

THE ILLUSIONIST
Trailer: http://www.videodetective.com/trailer-preview.asp?940039

Another great-looking movie! I need to invent a time machine and go back 200 years. That would be fresh.

THE PRESTIGE
Trailer: http://www.videodetective.com/trailer-preview.asp?652778

Here's another that kind of goes along with The Illusionist, both about magicians, but each different. They both look great!

ROME: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON
Trailer: http://www.videodetective.com/trailer-preview.asp?151669

This was an HBO series that was simply awesome. Sadly this next season will be its last because HBO digs itself into a financial hole with these series and with a $100,000,000 price tag they can't afford to go beyond season 2. Lame.

Either way, for those that didn't see this while it was on you should definitely check it out. It's an amazing series.

GABRIELLE
Trailer: http://www.videodetective.com/trailer-preview.asp?699407

A ghost story set in the 1800's or something, but it's in French. I'm basically interested simply because of the period, but the music makes it seem cool.

BORAT: CULTURAL LEARNINGS OF AMERICA FOR MAKE BENEFIT GLORIOUS NATION OF KAZAKHSTAN
Trailer: http://www.videodetective.com/trailer-preview.asp?505806

Nothing more needs to be said. This movie is going to kick ass!!

Anyway, there are some others like Rocky Balboa, Employee Of The Month, The Namesake, The Black Dahlia and Idlewild, to name a few, that I'd like to see eventually. Given the choice, though, those above are the movies I'd see first.

So what do you got?

Pathfinder could definitely be cool. Karl Urban knows how to kick ass. And of course, the Borat movie should be a gem.

Also some movie called Feast. Patrons locked inside of a bar are forced to fight monsters? Say no more!

There's a lot of movies that seem cool coming out. I didn't even mentioned the countless cartoon (Pixar, Dreamworks, etc.) movies coming out. I love 'em! :)

The movie The Namesake looks really good. It's got the dude from American Pie and Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle, or whatever; the Middle Eastern dude. It looks good, not a comedy, though.

The Fountain, definately.

I'm a huge fan of Aronofsky, it's just disappointing that Brad Pitt left the project, because even though he's a pretty boy, he's still a fantastic actor.

As of now the number 1 movie on my list is Jackass: number two. I don't think any film has made me laugh as much as the first one did and I dont think this one can fail because check out these stunts that are to be featured...makes me wonder if its going to get an NC-17 rating....

* Cobra Kid "David Weathers" release's a cobra on Bam Margera makes him cry!
* Ryan Dunn is locked in a car with a bees nest.
* Chris Pontius drinks horse semen.
* A big dance intro.
* Knoxville gets rammed by a yak, blindfolded.
* Don Vito gets his tooth pulled out by Bam's Lamborghini.
* Giving Two Random Girls Tatoos about Signs they saw on the way to the Tattoo Parlour.
* Bam gets branded by Ryan Dunn, while Johnny Knoxville holds him still.
* Wee Man and Preston do the "Human Bunjy"
* Knoxville and Bam try out a Hornet's Nest Grenade.
* Bam's Crew Jump On Rake Yohns Head While Not Looking.
* Bam sets Rake Yohn's hair on fire
* Knoxville rides a rocket, Wile E. Coyote style.
* Steve-O gets a leech put on his eyeball.

:omfg:

Other than that, Im also looking forward to Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, just for the simple fact that its the "greatest band ever" and Liam Lynch directed it :D

pretty much the only one i'm looking forward too. I have no clue what its about and don't really intend to find out because Daren Aronofsky directed it, so it will own.

But, will it feature footage of Don Vito groping those two 12 year old girls?

No, not funny at all. Apparently it's true, and not a joke the guys are playing.

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/ap/20060819/115604010000.html

Quote:
Reality television's Vincent "Don Vito" Margera, uncle of "Viva La Bam" star Bam Margera, was held without bond Saturday on a charge of sexual assault on a child.

Margera, 50, was arrested Friday night after a skateboarding event at a Lakewood mall. He is accused of two incidents of sexual assault on a child, city spokeswoman Stacie Oulton said. She said the charges involved inappropriate touching.

The MTV show "Viva La Bam" focuses largely on Bam Margera playing practical jokes on his parents and uncle, whose dialogue is often unintelligible.

Vincent Margera came to Colorado to film promotional material for ManiaTV.com, which first reported his arrest. ManiaTV.com founder Drew Massey said Margera had finished his work before the arrest.

Bam Margera, a professional skateboarder, was not with his uncle on the trip.
