The two posts above me are both (as Rad would say) bollocks! This album is good, not a classic (even for power metal alone). And, Strato are one of the best in the genre along side BG, Kamelot, Helloween...

Don't even try to compare BLIND GUARDIAN with Stratovarius, and go call bollock your mother!!

They are so generic and boring, bahh...

[automatic_response="FrigidSymphony"]Sonata Arctica are better than all the aforementioned bands![/automatic_response]

What does bollocks mean?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bollocks

Why don't you use terms that you actually know the meaning?

Whatever.
The point is Stratovarius is an average power metal band, I'm here to discuss music, nothing more.

Chill out dude I'm just messing with you. I'm here for the same purpose.

I agree that they are not on the same level as Blind Guardian; I said that just to get a point across. However, they are one of the bands that got me into power metal, therefore they have a special place in my cd collection... in the S section. I would say they are on par with bands like Symphony X, Virgin Steele, Nocturnal Rites, Labyrinth, Sonata, etc… Just my opinion.

strato>sonata

If it wasn't for Strato, there would be no Sonata.

that doesn't necessarily mean they're better. If it weren't for metallica, there wouldn't be a LOT of better band now.

Seriously. Look at Venom. They preceded extreme metal...they sucked. Significance and influence mean a lot in some respects, but it doesn't make your shitty music any better.

Yes, Destiny is indeed a classic. One of Stratovarius' best albums, alongside Visions and Episode.

If someone asks about Strato, who is getting into them for the 1st time, this is the album that is most frequently mentioned to check out first.

The songs kick ass too. Destiny, 4000 Rainy Nights, S.O.S, Venus In The Morning, Cold Winter Nights, etc.

Definite classic
