dammit! Kurt Angle ruled, it sucks that he had to go. but it's for the best, he's injured and he's already given us lots of excellent matches.

Kurt Angle :dio:

Once his 90 day no compete clause is up, he'll surface somewhere else. Maybe TNA, or Japan, or even the MMA world. It was not an amicable split, like the article says. he was fired, but the WWe wants to retain good relations with him for obvious reasons, so hence the bullshit press release.

It's a tough call. Toney is slipping a bit, Guinn and Rahman did well against him when they chose to stay on the outside. If Peter stays on the outside there could be an upset, if he fights Toney on the inside Toney will win a UD, but get beat up in the process.

However, I have a feeling Toney may get KO'd.

I have a feeling you may be right about the KO, but my gut tells me Toney is just too savvy for Peter and will win in a boring UD.

Toney's gut tells me he may get KO'd.

but why would Angle himself say that he could return and all?

sounds friendly to me, besides, why would the WWE fire one of their biggest stars? or are you saying Angle left because he got tired of the WWE? but if so, he wouldn't be careful not to hurt the WWE's image..

Basically Vince said "You aren't dying on my payroll." Angle was asked to take about a year off to get his neck fixed, Angle said that was out of the question. He was also upset about being moved to ECW in the first place.

BWAAHAHAHAHA!!

As for Angle, I hope he shows up in TNA. Angle v. Samoa Joe would be pretty kickass.

It would be nice, but I think Angle is a little out of TNA's league payroll-wise. He would boost their credibility immensly, but they can't afford a guy like that. He isn't an old vet looking for one last run like Sting, so I can't see him taking less than a few million to wrestle, nor should he, I'd say Japan will be his next stop. I'll take a Bob Sapp vs Kurt Angle match though.

Pffft! Toney will win a UD if Peter tries to fight inside. If he does any inside work it has to be some quick combinations and then back on the outside, working the jab, setting up big shots. Rahman, Ruiz and Guinn did well when they didn't fall into Toney's rhythm. But that's one of Toney's strengths, of course, making people fight his fight.

I don't think he can KO Peter.

Sorry, I have no clue what the song is. It sounds like the guitar-tone that CKY uses, but I don't think it's them.

That was a tough fight to call, the scores were ridiculous, however. Judges are fucking tards most of the time. How they had scores with that big of a gap with a point deduction is beyond me.

All I know is that Toney is insane! How he was able to take those shots is beyond me.

Yeah it was bull shit I had it 114 - 113 Toney or maybe 115 - 112. Toney scared me in the 4th when I got fucking jacked and was holding on the ropes, he was hurt bad that time. I hope he retires cos at 38 he isn't taking a lot of shots now and I dont' want to see him die or get hurt. He won that fucking fight though. Ken, you are right, those judges are on crack and should be banned for 6 months from scoring any other fights. bullshit.

Toney, greatest chin of all time except for Julio Cesar Chaves? maybe.

He definitely has a great chin. Though it's not been tested much, it's solid. And I think he's getting hit more now simply because these HWs can overpower him. At CW or LHW he would dominate anyone. Of course, his fat ass ain't getting down to that weight!

He gets hit because he is 38. Shit, I would like to see him fight that Sergi Lecovich guy and then retire. Not Peters, he took to many nasty temple shots from that fucker. I mean look at the dudes Toney fought before and none of them hurt him and only Reggie Johnson and Jones Jr knocked him down (The Jones Jr one was a flash/off balance move). Maybe James should fight Roy now and destroy him but that is just cruel. Too bad he can't get down in weight to 200 because he could fight Virgil Hill for the WBA belt which would be a good fight even though both are old now. Hill is fighting Maske again in a Maske comeback. Maybe Virgil has the right idea, beat former good fighters and then step in and whip a younger guy for a belt occasonally. Dude barely lost Mocormack in their 2nd fight. Crazy how these guys can go and go, but someone like Jones Jr just loses it all overnight.

TNA IS COMING TO PORTUGAL!!!

first Smackdown! schedules a house show in december, which quickly sells out. they schedule another one right after, and i was going to get a ticket to that until i found out that TNA is coming here too!

all i've seen from TNA are compilations and the odd fight, but it looks 100x more impressive than anything the WWE has come up with recently.

anyway here are two clips:
TNA Finishers - http://youtube.com/watch?v=IjLThMLlvtQ
AJ Styles compilation - http://youtube.com/watch?v=LEtQqVFApbo

rant..

am i the only one who thinks that the WWE for some stupid reason limits its own wrestlers (or "superstars" as they call them)?

i'm not talking about banning moves like the Shooting Star Press, i'm talking about guys like Triple H, Mysterio, HBK, RVD, etc. only doing a handful of different moves now! moves that aren't that complex or dangerous for some reason are missing from many fights!

look at that AJ Styles video! half of those moves would be finishers in the WWE!

i watch smackdown! every week and it just keeps getting worse. and that eddie guerrero thing is completely lame too.

TNA signs the "Wrestling Machine" Kurt Angle!

Quote:
TNA WRESTLING MAKES TWO MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS
Signs Kurt Angle
iMPACT! Moves To 9 PM on Spike TV Starting Thursday, November 16

Nashville, TN, September 24, 2006 – Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling announced today that Olympic gold medalist and pro wrestling megastar Kurt Angle has signed exclusively with the company. It was also announced that TNA iMPACT! will move to 9:00 PM ET/PT Thursdays on Spike TV starting November 16.

“This has been a huge week in our company’s history,” said Dixie Carter, president of TNA Entertainment, LLC. “The signing of Kurt Angle and the move of iMPACT! to 9 PM are both significant benchmarks in the growth of TNA. The history of pro wrestling is marked with events that change the landscape of the industry and I believe that this week will be viewed in that context.”

Angle, a 2-time NCAA Division I champion and a 3-time NCAA Division I All-American, capped off his illustrious amateur career by winning a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Olympics, competing with two cracked vertebrae, two herniated disks and four pulled muscles.

On November 14, 1999, Angle made his on-screen debut with the World Wrestling Federation. Since then, this 5-time WWE World Champion has held every major championship belt in WWF/E. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2003.

“Kurt is considered the greatest wrestler in professional wrestling,” added Carter. “His in-ring ability is matched only by his leadership and attitude. We are thrilled Kurt is joining the TNA family and we look forward to a long, successful relationship.”

“Being with TNA feels like I found my home,” Kurt Angle commented. “TNA will be the most watched show on cable TV – it’s just a matter of time. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love.”

TNA also announced it will premiere in primetime on Spike TV starting Thursday, November 16, kicking-off with a two-hour extravaganza from 9:00 – 11:00 PM, ET/PT to celebrate the move. The following Thursday, TNA can be seen in its regularly scheduled timeslot (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), with encores continuing to telecast on Saturdays (11:00 PM – Midnight, ET/PT).

“We’ve been impressed by TNA’s growth and the acquisition of Kurt Angle today continues to show us that wrestling fans, as well as professional wrestlers, know that TNA is the place to be and now primetime on Spike TV is the place for them to be,” says Kevin Kay, General Manager of Spike TV.

After twenty telecasts in the Thursday 11 PM ET/PT time slot, TNA iMPACT! is averaging a 1.0 HH rating, with a 1.1 in M18-49, a 1.3 in M18-34 and an average audience of 1.1 million viewers. Compared to YAGO in that timeslot, TNA is up +137% in HH, +211% in M18-49, +244% in M18-34 and +157% in average audience. Among ad-supported cable channels in the time period (11:00 PM – Midnight, ET/PT), Spike ranks #1 in M18-49, #1 in M25-34, and #2 in M18-34. (All ratings reflect Most Current viewing levels)

The new wrestling alternative, TNA delivers a distinct brand of high-risk, athletic entertainment. TNA’s roster includes new, fresh talent like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Monty Brown and recognizable stars such as Sting, Christian Cage, Jeff Jarrett, Team 3D, and others. TNA features the innovative six-sided ring and the high-flying “X Division,” as well as concept matches such as “Ultimate X,” “King of the Mountain,” and “Six Sides of Steel.”
