A quite fair review, I would rate it higher, since it is on my desert island list.

I would like to emphasize that despite the great variety of styles the whole album is totally coherent. All is kept together by Neal's incredible singing/songwriting capabilities.

Yeah, Neal Morse is amazing. Hey Open Mind, how would you compare this one with Testimony?

A tricky question. I would say tie.

Testimony has the slightly better songmaterial and I like the musical concept. The osscilation between plain pop-rock songs and progressive instrumental interludes is quite unique. Academically speaking on Testimony the progressiveness is subordinated to singing/songwriting.
One ist more ambitious in composition, similar to Transatlantic, and has the greater variety in style and sound.

IMHO One the coronation of Neal's works because it brings together the best of his three worlds. Jolly Prog, artistic Prog and great singing/songwriting.
