Not to start an argument and Im 100% serious here, I checked this out and during certain points of the clean vocals the singer sounded like the buddy from Simple Plan and that is not something I wanna hear in metal.

I just don't hear it. Seeing them live you can totally hear how amazing he is. He can hit some damn high notes.

I made the C&C comparison, but that's a little extreme...the guy's a damn good singer, and the guy in Simple Plan isn't, enough said.

And hopefully, I'll be seeing these guys live in like three weeks.

Thats cool. I dunno, Im not very good with comparisons at all, but when I put on the first song on the newest album, instantly in my mind was this "Holy fuck, sounds like simple plan, whats with all the fuss around this" I re-listened to it and again, it was there, its all I could think about and I didnt want to hear it. I'll give em another chance sometime though, because the music side of things was actually pretty decent.

I didnt mean a comparison in the way he could handle his vocals, pitch-wise or whatever, I meant his tone, the sound of his voice, to me, it sounds like Simple Plan. Yes he can sing better than the dude from SP.

I think the problem here is that the guy sounds young. I really don't know if he can help that or not though. His high pitched vocals are very Halford-esque though and I'll give a mighty :dio: to that.

Er, who's Halford? Sorry, I don't know that much about metal, at least compared to you guys...I'll probably recognize whatever band he's from, though.

Heh heh, I definitely recognize that band...

I haven't listened to a whole lot of Judas Priest, though...

What he said. If you haven't listened to Judas Priest go do so right now and be learned in the ways of metal.

My friend's band is playing with them. At Bulldogz, right? Sep 12th? My friend's band is called Burn Your Halo, he's the drummer. They're like screamo metalcore, I guess, from what I've heard, but you should go early just to watch him play the drums. He's one of the baddest drummers you'll ever see. Gene Hoglan would bow to him.

You may also see Husker and Orion there. Kick them both in the nuts for me. Thanks.

Not entirely, in my first post I said certain parts, its like a split second now and then when he hits a note and his voice sounds just like it. And since at work all they do is play Simple Plan on the radio Im used to hearing the guys voice, I know when I hear it. But like Orion said, it might just be that they both sound very young, that could be it.

I'm with you Silent Man. How everyone else cannot hear the whine in the dude's voice confuses me as much as you seem to be confusing everyone else.

Sometimes young vocalists sound funny. They just don't sound as manly as older guys. Heck even James Hetfield on Kill 'Em All sounded really young. He sounds way better on MOP and AJFA. And that's thrash vocals. It's probably much more obvious on clean ones.

I'm talking about Gigantour--I dunno if your friend is playing in that, heh heh. I've yet to get tickets though...hopefully I can still pick some up once I convince my friends to go with me.

So I just acquired myself the complete CD (booklet and everything). They have a new singer! No wonder why there's a big difference in the vocals! Actually, they have the same singer, Stu Block, but he didn't sing on the last album. He joined after that album was done.

Anyway, big improvement.

Sweet...will we be seeing a review on this soon, then? I've been looking forward to reading about this.

I don't know. I didn't get the CD specifically to review. I got it because people like me. :)
