Savatage - Streets
Shadow Gallery - Tyranny
Rhapsody - Symphony of Enchanted Lands

...well, those are classics that really defined their own genre in my opinion. Others may disagree ofcourse. :)

Dream Theater - A Change of Seasons
Riot - Rock City
Riot - Fire Down Under
Rush - 2112
Racer x - Second Heat
Iron Maiden (self titled)
Judas Priest - Sad Wings of Destiny
Malmsteen - Oddysey
Stratovarius - Episode
Therion - Theli
Deep Purple - Burn
Accept - I'm a Rebel

Would be interesting to see what others than myself think about these albums. I sure love'em all! Yes, even Malmsteen! Perhaps I'm a freak...

Ok, I listened to some samples from Barzum's discography, and I found them sort of funny. The production wasn't the best though, it must have been recorded in "The closet of hatred" or "Mom's basement of unspeakable horror".

The lyrics are pretty scarry too...
"Fullu fingrgull."

...what?

I think Varg's vocals are some of the best in Black Metal, specially in releases like Hvis Lyset Tar Oss where they perfectly with the music.

As for the production I feel it fits the music well, no to mention that at a certain point he didn't have a lot of money to begin with.

I don't get what's funny about Burzum though.

All Burzum albums except "Daudi Baldrs" should be classics, as should DarkThrone's "Under A Funeral Moon", "Transilvanian Hunger", "A Blaze In The Northern Sky", and "Hate Them. " Emperor's first two full lengths as well and the "wrath of the tyrant" demo should also be classics. Almost forgot, Mayhem - "de Mysteriis..", "Deathcrush" and Gorgoroth's "Twilight of the Idols". And Vrolok "Resurgence I", "Resurgence II", and Judas Iscariot "Thy Dying Light" as well as Sargeist - "Satanic Black Devotion"

The first albums by Darkthrone are definetly classics but Hate Them, even tough it's a great Black Metal album, it presents nothing new, also it was released in 2003, I don't think it can be classified as a classic.

As always you don't give an explanation for your post, just a silly comment like "You're silly" or "Melodic Black Metal sucks", so as ussual your post doesn't have any value.

Venom don't have any value.
Want a better explanation? They sound like crap, and because of them a bunch drunken morons believe that they're "satanic" and into black metal. I guess you must be one of those drunken morons. And don't give me some shit like "but Venom invented black metal"; nobody in Norway ever listened to them except Euronymous, and he liked the image, not the music.

Oh, and how about some deathspell omega in the classics section?

"Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" by Burzum is at the top of the list for me. But I generally agree with all of BlackWizards albums.

As far as non-black metal albums go, Celtic Frost's "To Mega Therion" and any of Iced Earth's first three albums are personal classics.

Danny is the resident Iced Earth reviewer here. Anyone who tried to review and Iced Earth album without his permission would get their balls cut off.

I guess we're drunken morons then J.

As for Deathspell Omega I definetly agree they're an excellent band, but they're too new to be classics, we'll have to wait to see what time says.

Burzum, Emperor, Darkthrone, Mayhem. 4 of the bands that helped shape modern day black metal. But I guess they were just so inhebriated to the point where it affected everyone else to believe that they were helping to start this "wave."

By the way, none of the bands you mentioned in the quote, to my knowledge, are even into the "satanic" image anymore.

No, you just don't like black metal.

I can appreciate the achivements of early Darkthrone and Emperor and from time to time I enjoy listening to them. The atmosphere is great and there is even hints of intelligence to detect. My post was just to mock IATBW, who writes nothing but all-that-is-not-true-black-is-crap. Nevertheless, I don't think he's got savvy enough to get it.

I have two more...

Ayreon - Into the Electric Castle
Eternity X - The Edge

I would also personally regard "Virgin Steele - The House of Atreus II" and "Nikolo Kotzev's Nostradmus" classic, but since they have already been reviewed I'll leave them out.
