Why doesn't this art compare lower down itself, and turn into appreciation.

Good review.. I might try to check this out. I enjoy Opeth and I like the spirit of Agalloch's music even though I'm not a huge fan of theirs.

I don't necessarily agree that all metal should be aggressive.. in fact I'm a fan of the Burzum, Wyrd, Angantyr side of black metal and the atmosphere that they achieve.

Exactly, I like my metal to be nonaggressive though. This is a very good album but the debut/demo was better: against the seasons had a much colder and convincing atmosphere, and was more bertattish.

this album is great in my opinion, especially for the atmosphere it creates, they were able to capture a certain sound and pinpointed it perfectly.

and as for holy terror, im not gonna bother arguing, your so ridiculously close minded that i feel bad for you because you close out so much good music. i love kreator man, love dark angel, testament and so on, but im going to tell you the truth here, thrash becomes uninspired, even kreator had to stray from that full blown thrash sound, look at enemy of god, i smell some metalcore. not the poin though, great thrash bands can only last so long, just like sepultura for another example, chaos ad marked the end of a great thrash band. (though i still liked chaos ad i dont care what you say) point is, those bands were great and had a major impact on a lot of newer bands, but you dont have to stress that point to the extend of closing your mind to good music.
but ill probably just get a reply from you telling me how i dont know shit and the 80s the 80s the 80s. whatever man.

Maybe but if some of you actually would listen to the bands Holy Terror recomend, you might agree with him on some points.

Highly doubt that, I've had my share of 80s thrash and it got repetitive.

I was just joking. I lik a lot of the bands he recommends, but I agree with Misha for the most part.

I don't know exactly why, but I've revisited and listened to this excessively for a period now and it has quickly become one of my top favourite albums. Magical.

Ah, don't beat yourself up about it. Maybe you can redeem yourself by reviewing the new album that they are working on. I'm so looking forward to it.

The horrible vocals ruined this one for me.
