The poll says it all. Is South Park still funny?

My vote was "Some of it." The last two seasons, in particular, were very hit-or-miss. Some episodes (the Ginger Kids episode) were funny. Others (the Hybrid Cars episode) weren't.

There's also the issue of the way the characters are developing: Cartman was, for a while, getting too evil to be funny anymore. Stan and Kyle have become way too rational/logical for nine year olds. And Stan's parents in particular are getting way too much exposure. Why don't Kenny's parents get more exposure (they're the most amusing)?

Very hit-or-miss.

Especially the Oprah-episode, that one was really tasteless, not funny, just tasteless.

i don't know which season South Park is on here in portugal, so i voted in the "middle" option. there are excellent episodes and some that are just plain stupid.

Replace Portugal with Sweden and I'll agree with Azrael.

I voted the middle as well. I think the show's peak was from season 4/5 through season 8. The last two seasons have been very spotty. However, I still look forward to it more than any other show and consider it my favorite American comedy.

The one where the last scene was a dead whale on the moon nearly made me wet myself.

Oh man, that was a good one.

As for the best comedy show right now, it's Entourage, HBO rules :P

I love South Park. Ever since season 6 they have put out some of the funniest episodes ever. Lemiwinks is still the best episode ever.

Since it dropped a lot of the toilet humour and became really satirical (post season 4) it's very rarely missed the mark with me. Whenever they do something shit they tend to take the mick out of themselves for it later.

Everyone complains about that new towelie episode, and it is shit, but it is basically a pisstake about them being unable to come up with new ideas and turning to drugs, only to come up with what is arguably the shittest episode ever. That kind of stuff makes me ROFL.

I used to know a girl that would randomly break into a full rendition of Uncle Fucka. I was so in love.

Very hit-or-miss for me. Sometimes it's hilarious, other times it bugs the piss out of me.

Some of its fans can be quite obnoxious however.

Best show on the planet.

BTW, the Hybrid cars episode is damn funny. Trey Parker and Mat Stone for president.

Very true. I remember back in the day when every little dumbass used to walk around imitating Cartman. So annoying.

They still do 'round these parts, but then again I live in the general vicinity of a bunch of inbred white-trash rednecks, so that doesn't really surprise me.

Well, I've always loved South Park. Not every episode is a winner, but it has maintained it's "quality". yeah
