i'd give it a score in the 80's.

solid album and definately worth checking out. and this is coming from a non-black metal fan.

I agree; it's solid, but an 80 is for a very good / excellent album, and this one ain't that.

First of all The Codex Necro is better, more brutal and and was original when it came out, but if you heard The Codex Necro you have already heard this one, so it's not very original and also I grow a bit tired of it after a while, still a solid album as you said. Remember that 70 is a good score, and this is a good album, but there are a lot of releases this year that are much better.

Hold on though, I've heard this one has better production than Codex, and that the sound has matured some. Is this true?

It has matured and it has better production, but The Codex Necro had a more raw sound and brutal edge I preffer.

WHAT!? Not even one of the top 15 albums of the year for me, I can easily mention 20 albums that are better; I mean, I respect your opinion and this is a good release but not amazing; just for curiosity, could you mention why you find it the best and which albums are good, but weak in comparison to Anaal Nathrakh's release, or better, your list of the best albums of the year; maybe you haven't heard any better releases yet, but it's far from being the best or one of the best.

Nice album, good sound, atractive guitar riffs, some parts remember me the Emeperor last´s album, not incredible but have nice and kool moments
