It drives me nuts when people let their GF or whoever decide what they should listen too. I think I pretty much got divorced over my ex not liking Metal and bitching at me about (not really but it helped). Music is personal, I don't know why people don't get that?
I do it mostly because she listens to music I like too, if she liked bad music I'd probably care.
You should have said that then. Yeah for every metal CD I ever played with my ex from Taiwan I had to suck it up for some R Kelly or some Mandarian or J-pop stuff.
Jesus, Leeee, howd you put up with it? Mandarin n J-Pop are fuckin lame. It's pretty big over here. Especially among the chinese. And it bloody annoys me. J-Pop is massive here. And you get all those posers posing like those stupid Jap stars everytime they take a picture (yeah, yeah, the one where you smile like frog and show the peace sign close to your eyes). they do that here except they also scream about being Bi (but beign in only hetero relatioships.) and wear cat ears and occasionaly tails. Also they change there names. Sudenly peopel hwose names i new to be jamie and nathalie became Ru Ru and alexiel ray.
I recently started dating this gal who is into punk rock but upon seein all my band shirts, she said she had never heard any metal really so she asked me to convert her to a metal head.
NEVER, EVER convert a person into a metalhead. That's my principle/theory. You can just tell them what band is good etc, but don't ever give them stuff and tell them to listen to them. They should do their research on their own and embrace on their own. That is how I feel. And that is how I became a metalhead. I never had friends at school who were metalheads cos no one was. But it was my personal interest that made me into one. Of cos there were people who wanted to convert into metalism.....but turned out bein posers. That's why I never 'convert' anyone, it's better if they experiment on their own. I have a few friends who just by hangin out with us became metalheads overnight, but all posers, and now I fucking hate them. Every few minutes they go..."Yeah, metal!!!"
convert is probably the not the right word. How about "help get into metal".
I know that if i didnt have some one show me new bands and stuff iwould never have got into metal because, without other people introduceign you to the bands, where are you going to hear the stuff, Mtv?
