A good teaser, can't wait for the album! Only problem I have is the lyrics on the song The Sons of Odin... I'm used to Manowar lyrics being pretty cheesy, but that's in a way their charm, but that song almost seems like a parody of themselves. Me and my friends like to joke about Manowar lyrics, making up new Manowar lyrics from the top of our heads and including as many words like warrior, steel, blood etc as possible for a laugh, but man this song beats us hands down. We bow before the masters :)

I usually like their lyrics  Eveyone says they're cheesy and silly, well i guess many of them are, but a lot of them are good also.

Not saying I don't like their lyrics, its just that it can be a bit much sometimes. I wouldn't be a Manowar fan if I hated their lyrics.

By moonlight we ride! Ten thousands side by side! :dio:

What is "Lion cloth clad heavy metal gone symphonic?"

Is that supposed to be Loin or Lion? It's Manowar, could be either! Haha. Shouldn't Heavy Metal be appropriate? I mean, how can a style be clad in loin/lion cloth?

Manowar is one of the only bands I know of who have released a couple of CDs I will never own specifically because I won't be caught dead with the cover art in my possession

Well, musically I did mention "heavy metal", which I consider them to be..... :)

Lighten up, it was a cool joke. I like that sometimes you guys throw in these silly genre titles for albums. If someone doesn't know what the fuck kind of metal Manowar plays they prob don't need to read this site.......

Good to hear so many good oppinions on manowar :)

Although the comment about being "influenced by Rhapsody" is way off target, when Manowar wrote symphonic epics (crown and the ring per say), Turilli didn't even own a guitar!

The lion cloth clad comment was a huge hit though!!!

I agree that a song like "The Crown and the Ring" is more epic sounding than symphonic because of the organs and choir vocals. Manowar are using more synth string effects and the pieces are getting longer too....not a bad thing, just something that I hope doesn't over saturate the music. Also, some of the songs seem to still borrow from a formula used on the last few albums...start loud, then break into a slow, soft part and then kick in again. I like when Manowar keeps the same pace from start to finish.....

Totally agree, I was thinking the exact same thing. I mean "Sons of Odin" per say rocks, but in a "safe" way, with the song structure you mention. On the other hand, can we expect from a band that's been around for 26 years to offer something new? My oppinion is yes, because if you look at Manowar's discography there hasn't been two consecutive albums that sound exactly the same. It just seems they don't put that much effort in writing more original music anymore, but churn out something they know the fans will like, while being cought up in touring, dvd's or whatever. That's the case at least with "Sons of Odin", "Gods..." was a welcome change of pace imo.

Another good point that was made was about the lyrics. Although Manowar's lyrics (or at least the message behind them) have always been very dear to me, it seems that this time they just took the lyrical content of "Warriors..." and mixed the words to produce two more songs! Does it sound epic as hell? Yes it does!!! Are there any new words in there? Well actually there's "my deeds will scortch the land" and "berserker rage" but that's pretty much it :P

Just downloaded and listened to the 2 main songs from Sons Of Odin (Gods of War & Sons of Odin). They are good, but not great. I think Sons of Odin is the better of the 2. But its like they held back with these two tracks, i expected more.
I thought the narration at the end was boring and not really needed
