Haha this is the first Amon Amarth I've actually bothered listening to and it made me laugh. Manliest music ever.

I meant in a good way, like a "that's so cool!!!" laugh, not a "wow this is horrible" laugh.

This is going in the top tnen list for sure. On a little side note, does anyone else think the opening riff in "Gods of War Arise" sound damn near identical to the opening riff in "Death In Fire"?

Excellent release, they brought back a bit of speed without losing the atmosphere that made Fate Of Norns so unique and different from their rest of the catalogue.
Can't wait to hear the second part of Loke's Treachery... man, I can't get enough of that epic opening riff.

Was debating for weeks whether to get this album or not as I've never heard anything from Amon Amarth. Finally did and I'm glad. In my top five releases for the year easily. Looking forward to getting my hands on the rest of their releaeses.

Great album. It's remarkable how some of the lyrics seem hokie (prolly not gonna blast this at a red light with the windows down) yet give me goosebumps.

What a pleasant surprise! I found the last 2 albums to be solid, but a bit too "samey" to leave a lasting impression. This however, is friggin amazing, it has aggresion and atmosphere. The solos are pretty damn good too!

This is truly a great record. I wasn't really expecting anything this good from them, but this might just be their best record yet. Once Sent From The Golden Hall is awesome as well, but there's just something about this one. It's just so unbelievably " :dio: "

The video for Runes To My Memory is quite hilarious too. :D

They're quite outstanding and phenomenal, they are especially good at creating touching melody! I was totally immersed in the melancholic atmosphere and envisioned myself fighting with enemy! HA!
Decent Album! :dio:

Woho resurrected thread!

This album is the best AA album I've yet to hear, I hope the upcoming Twilight Of The Thundergod can match it. At least give us two good songs like Runes to my memory and Cry of the black birds.

I liked the album, but the tracks were a little too close to each other in terms of sound. That might be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how you like your albums, but I found it kind of annoying.

Definetely a heavy, heavy album though, heavy to the point of just crushing your head if you listen to it with good (read: big) headphones. The lyrics, they're brutal/Viking to the point of almost becoming a joke. I mean, ever song has something about brains on his sword, cutting someone in half, etc. It just got a little old to me.

All in all, a cool album. And Prediction of Warfare is one of my favorite riffs of the week!
