A little bump here. I got this album in the mail this morning through lala.com. I've been listening all morning and it's badass! :dio:

For some reason I thought these guys were more screamo like December. They're pretty much a melodic death metal band very much like Dark Tranquillity. In fact, you could probably convince some people that this is Dark Tranquillity! Some clean singing in a few verses will have people thinking metalcore, but this is melodic death metal with the "melodic" aspect taking hold on a few tracks (think Projector by DT).

Anyway, a killer album! Glad I put it on my list even if I now feel it was two years late.

I have had this for 2 or 3 years I think. It doesn't touch Earth gods or Memorial because they dumbed it down some and made it more generic but it is still a decent album I play every so often. 6.8/10 (-.2 for how short it is).

lol, I didn't see the post date from those.......Way to keep up with the times Ken. I was just about to ask you the other day if you owned this because it seems like something you would totally love. You should check out their older self released shit, production is somewhat raw but DAMN good albums.

Huh...I didn't realize they had older albums! I'll have to look into that.

And I heard them a long, long time ago and wasn't impressed. I could have sworn they were screamo/metalcore. But recently I heard "Follow Through" and that sure didn't sound screamo! Haha. So I gave it a shot for $1.75. Quite a deal.

No way bro, they were dark/gothic metal and one of the few US bands playing that style, fem vocals and all. Their new shit is the closet they came to metalcore but I think that was just a nod to modern Soilwork and Inflames. I don't know if you can find them, if you can let me know and I will burn it for you or something. I only have Earth Gods, Memorium got stolen by my ex and it was self released so good luck on that.

I'll have to check this out since its on The End, and I like pretty much every band they have signed. Also the idea of Dark Tranquillity with hardcore and clean vocals might be pretty cool.

Yeah these guys are pretty good. Their older material is really different than this album but like people here have said it's damn good. Memorial is one of the best self released metal albums I've heard. I really wish they didnt hate their earlier work as much as they do.

Btw you can find The Earth Gods from cdbaby.com They're quick, about a week. As for Memorial... good luck on that man its gonna be hard to track down.

I am sure they only hate their old stuff because they found it was impossible to get signed as a US band that sounds like they should be from Finland, no market for that type of band. The cheaped themeselves by copy catting latter day Soilwork big time.............but..............talent shines through and they still made a decent album.
