Hard Rock Hallelujah, Who's Your Daddy?, It Snows in Hell, They Only Come out at Night, this album is full of great songs, but sadly, I'm sure their popularity is going to ruin their reputation in the metal community, it already has...

I can't believe The End Records signed such a crappy band ...

Going from having genre defying progressive bands to grabbing a retro pop rock band =

Well, they forgot Slipknot, and now the target is Lordi. Oh well, I should have seen that coming...

Not a metal band even by their own definition, anyway they have a couple of listenable party songs. And of course they brought some good attention towards other finnish bands as well.

They are accepted in metal-archives (which is not easy, btw), but I would agree they are a mix of 80's heavy metal, like Accept and Twisted Sister, with a KISS-like hard rock songwritting spirit.

I like Lordi a lot. Arockalypse is a great album, lots of catchy as hell stuff.

Without valuable posters such as these on the forums and their thoughtful analysis, what would we do?

Hey man, a forum's a forum. I just put in my two cents and leave it at that. Thougtful analysis? Better off in a small group in-person than on the Internet, where "valuable posters" like me can come in and denounce bands they don't like. Not like I bashed the review or anything...

I think you're missing the point. What he's saying is that, if people happen across the review who have never heard this band before, they may check the discussion for a second opinion. When you bash the band, it's much more helpful to these people if you give reasons. Otherwise, your post is about as useful as a fart in a spaceship.

I agree with this description. I like this album quite a lot. Maybe not too much the first half were the KISS elements are too obvious but all the songs in the second half of the album are killers!! A very solid release from Lordi. Well done to them! 80/100

Oh, I get the point. But I see people who like the band come on here and simply say "Lordi rocks!" and not get fingers pointed at them. On the other hand, since I happen to think the band sucks I apparently have to explain myself or something.

Alright then... to me, Lordi is glam at best, the music doesn't compensate for the asinine lyrical content, and they will never be as cool as GWAR when it comes to the theatrical aspect of their performance.

Ok, we get the point, you don't like Lordi, that's fine, you are not the only one, hip-hop fans also hate them, but calling them Glam is misjudging them by far, Glam Rock is Cinderella, The Darkness, Poison, Bon Jovi or Mötley Crüe. As I said before, Lordi is the new hating target, nothing can be done, only time will erase the hatred.
