I remember last year when England won the ashes, how everyone thought itwas the achievement of the century when it was a fluke.

At best.

I can't remember the last time I actually cared about the NBA Regular Season. I can usually get into the playoffs, especially if the Spurs or Mavs are involved, but I can't be bothered to care about what is essentially 50 meaningless games. Call me when the run to the playoffs starts.

If you don't like basketball, whatever, but I don't understand how any of you could go from "Basketball is my favorite sport" to "The NBA is shit". If you want to argue that the NBA was more fun to watch twenty years ago then okay, but in reality the games themselves aren't that much different from what they were back then--certainly not enough for it to make any sense for you to think that the NBA is shit now.

See, I disagree with that. The game is all about isolation now. Feed the ball to your star and let him make something happen, regardless of how horrendous a shot he may take. It might have always been like that, but guys like Jordan and Bird made it fun to watch. Now everybody's severly overpaid, and they play with no heart. It's almost like a glorified pick up game where nobody really gives a shit who wins and loses. I'm hoping that Wade, LeBron, and Carmelo can bring about some excitement, but if Carmelo acts like a mindless thug, that's gonna be tough.

The Suns don't play like that. Dallas, Clippers, even Utah are decent to watch. Eastern league basketballs is and always has been dog shit to watch. Look at Detriot and/or Miami last year, that stuff is crap.

And btw, I may have been overreacting. I still love basketball and enjoy watching certain teams (the Suns being one of them). Shit like this just pisses me off.

No I like Kobe just fine and enjoy watching him play. I separate personal bs from on skill stuff.

Ken you know boxing isn't like that or even close to the examples you listed except a few cases for every moron like Judah there are 20 guys like Taylor, Morales, Manny Pac and others.

You mean 80 something?

I agree though. I think that might be why I like football so much is b/c it only happens once a week. Btw, my fantasy team won the 1st of two in the finals!

Of course, Judah is the exception; generally, however, it's not the boxer who causes the problems, it's his entourage. Do you watch much local boxing? Friday Night Fights, CN8, stuff like that? Watch that shit, you'll see what I'm talking about.

And remember when NBA teams would score in the 100s? These days you've got a bunch of overpaid "superstars" that can barely score 70 points a game on a regular basis!

Watching sports is teh lame. Sometimes I watch hockey because my friends actually care about it so its fun to watch it with them. Especially since they have this weird idea in their heads that the Canucks are actually a good team

I have to disagree, basketball is easily my favorit sport to watch. Yes Carmelo is a pussy, but I could have told you that after the NCAA champoinship game. I dont see how you can complian about the nba being unprofessional, when hockey is centered around the very idea of fights. The new "great" american "sport", nascar is also centered around violence. I guess we havent really progessed much from the gladiator days.

Oh man don't get me started on Nascar.

And I watched the video a few more times and I've actually changed my opinion a bit. He sucker punched Collins sure, but if you look closely you can see Anthony confronted him a first time and exchanged words with him. Then Collins jawed off back at him, and it obviously upset Anthony. So he got caught up in the heat of the moment and bitch slapped that foo. I don't agree with it, but I've done stupid shit b/c I was fired up too. Plus I watched a few interviews after the game and he seemed pretty distraught about the whole thing. Maybe this will make for a good rivalry game when they meet next year. Remember the Heat/Knicks rivalry?

Now my question is whether or not Isaiah Thomas was the cause of the flagrant foul to begin with. I’m a huge George Karl fan, and seeing him go off on a tangent in that interview made me think twice about the coaching. If that’s the case than Isaiah Thomas can suck a fart out of my butt.

There's a clip that shows Isaiah saying "Don't go in the paint, it's not a good time" to Carmelo, before the flagrant foul. What a four flushing nut stain he is. Not only is he a dumb fuck (he's run 3 franchises and counting into the ground), but now he's proven he's nothing more than a thug with a suit coat on. Fuck him. Fuck him right in the ear.

No, I meant 50. The last 30 or so games leading up to the Playoffs are interesting.

I don't consider Nascar a sport, or much of anything.

And the changes to the rules in hockey since the lockout have made fights much less central to hockey.

Agreed on Carmelo.

Depends if you watch Eastern Conference shit or not. Suns def don't play that way. Blame dude like Larry Brown, etc for shit play.

Yeah I know what you mean for boxing. You ever see a Mexican or Korean entourage go nuts? It is an isolated problem depending on where the fighter is from and you know, that color thing no one wants to talk about. Sad but true. Although I will admit the Poles and people in the UK can get psycho over boxing.

I am not a Nascar fan but to handle some car doing 130mph for 500 miles makes it a skill and a sport. Same for F-1.......etc.
