You may hear people say this all the time about just about every single band that ever existed, but no band exemplifies it better than Europe IMO. Start From the Dark and Secret Society are both utterly pointless garbage and while I applaud the band for not trying to recreate the "magic" of the 80's, these two albums show an aging band trying too damn hard to stay "hip" and "musically relevant", or whatever sorry excuse one may come up with for this tripe not worth the plastic it's pressed into actually being released.
Come to think of it, Prisoners in Paradise isn't all that great either though, it was basically their attempt to establish themselves in the states with help of producer Beau Hill. It sounds nothing like old Europe, it's more like a cross between Warrant and Winger (both also produced by Beau Hill), and you can tell the band just didn't sound very comfortable with that sound. Still a decently fun disc though, which is far more than what can be said about anything on their two latest.
"Superstitious" solo thank you very much. That's the Europe I wish to remember, so stop tainting your legacy dammit.

Europe needs to reinvent themselves instead of trying to cling on modern sounds because it aint working.
Who are they trying to target anyways. You got modern fans who are turned off by Europe just because they still relate them to their hair band persona so they are turned off by them and you got old fans like us who thinks their newer stuff is garbage so instead of trying to go for the Nickleback fans why not just come up with something totally differernt like maybe some old WOT material mixed in with some symphonic metal material(not like their TFC stuff though).
