very good review, keep up the good work. Being a huuuuge (celtic) folk fan, and a metal fan, i think this will certainly appeal me.

This is a great album, period.

I thought their debut sucked and Pagan is supposedly even a step down - any chance I'll like this?

It must have been the Celtic blood flowing through my veins that made me like Cruachan's previous albums 'Pagan' and 'Folk-Lore'. Now, after listening to 'The Morrigan's Call' I can hear they are not really as good as I thought they were. I'll still listen to them now and again but 'The Morrigan's Call' has replaced them as my Celtic Folk Metal album to be played regularly. As I mentioned in the review, 'The Morrigan's Call' sees Cruachan tackling combining Celtic Folk and Metal in a different way. Rather than trying to force Metal onto and into their songs, they have just let it come naturally. This is one of the best Celtic Folk Metal albums I've heard. Hopefully, now that they've figured out how to do it, they will build on it and keep creating albums as good as or even better than this one.
