Im a real heavy smoker. I smoke Marlboro Red. But since yesterday I've been considering quitting. My uncle had a heart attack yesterday morning while driving. But he was strong enough to drive to the nearest hospital and barge his way through to the emergency ward. A little slower and I cant say what the consequences would have been.

He's a heavy smoker as well. He cut down so much on liquor but has always been puffing away. And as of yesterday, he quit both for good.

When I saw him, I started thinking whether all this is worth it or not. It doesn't actually. I'm gonna try hard to quit. It's gonna be tough.....and hell as I've been dependant on it for the pass 4 years. Wish me luck, guys.

I dunno if this forum's to blame (by putting thoughts in my mind, but in truth I want something to blame, even though I know it's my fault), but I fell off the wagon over the weekend, bought a pack of ciggies and am now in a crave war whether I can be bothered to go though another month of being an arsehole or just take up smoking again and be done with it.

I'm so pissed off with this addiction, that I could almost be tempted to take out a lawsuit saying that the Malaboro man hassled me when I was a minor and I've never got over it! bah.

Did I fail to mention I started smoking again? Haha, whatever. I could have quit. I stopped for a week and I didn't find it hard, but life still sucks and cigarettes are still satisfying. I'm going to cut back a bit though.

You oughta make up your mind. How much do you smoke now?

Assuming half of the cons concerning the hazards of smoking cigs are true, what are people thinking when they start? Seriously, I just do not understand the self-destructive mentality behind it at all.

Yeah, i've decided never to touch a cigarette after hearing people talk about trying to quit and stuff when they know its bad for you. The only time I've been mildly tempted is when I was drunk and we wanted to smoke something, but there was no weed and some guy walking by gave us free cigarettes.

They're not as addictive as they're made out to be if smoked in moderation. And they're satisfying.

I try to stick to five, sometimes more if I get annoyed/pissed off.

Thing is, it's really in your face these days and has been for some time about how bad it is for you and all the severe cons are put on all mediums around you.

Back when I started, problem was it was still advertised on TV (Hamlet cigars anyone?), magazines, sports and banners. Sure, you kinda know it's bad for you but what 16 year old wants to be told what to do?I guess that the cons were never spelt out like it is now. Therefore when I started I just realised that as soon as I got over inhalation part, the habit became quite... soothing

I smoke to confuse and perplex you. And to stick it to truth.com.

My friend started smoking because it was easier to meet people at bars outside with others smokers than inside

There are not too many things in this world that are more homoerotic than sucking on a little flaming stick and having gas coming out of your mouth. :dio:
