Nothing beats Nattestid, it's my all time fav Black Metal album; yet, Taake have released killer album after killer album, and this album is no exception.

C'moon only 5 of your 30 reviews have quotes lower than 80! According to you half of the albums you listen to are masterpieces....

He got a point, but daniel probably picks out the best albums to review. I'd like to see the scores shifted downwards as well though.

Indeed, when I started reviewing it was late 2004, which meant I had to cover the most important releases of 2004 in only 6 weeks, conclusion: I had to grab the most important and best releases of 04, so that's what I did, but this year I'll get to review a lot of crap as well as good albums".

Thanks for the support Misha and Dago. Fuck you MetalMaster, your words are trite and cheap, at least I am contributing to get BM into this website, once they had 1 BM review each month, when I entered they had like 5 or 6 extra BM reviews, and now with Misha we'll have around 12 BM reviews each month, instead of bitching try to understand that the moment I got into the site, there was a lot of important and good ground to cover. What would you preffer: To know the best and most important releases of 04 or the crappy ones?? COnsidering I had few time I had to choose one.... guess which one I chose.

Go Daniel!!! We love you. You're my favourite reviewer (with Misha as a close runner-up  )

Blah blah blah. Some months ago on Metal Archives there was a similar discussion about average ratings being way too high or something; as you can imagine, it all ended up into a lot of useless, irritating bitchfest. Let's avoid it here, please.

Thank you Kathaarian and IronDuchess for the kind words, I promise to keep working hard for you guys!

Also props to Lord Jotun, let's keep bitch-fests out,

If you don't agree with scores I have no problem JUST POST WHY DO YOU THINK THEY'RE WRONG; it's the samer that happens on the lisyt threads, everyone just posts a 10 album list and don't explain shit, and let me tell you that doesn't work, you can just mention random names and then what??? Nothing. All of you can give lists and complain, or agree, but EXPLAIN WHY!!!!!

As for the reviews, as Misha always says: The most important part of the review is the description of the sound, the rest (specially the score) is subjective.

Unholy Black Metal forever!!!!!

Taake's lyrics are written in arcaic Norwegian, even people from Norway have trouble translating them; the other problem is that they're written in runes (although you can find them written with the arabic alphabet in the internet).

With help from a norse friend I've traduced some of the lyrics in Nattestid and I must say they slay!!!

On Metal Archives you get them transcribed in "normal" Norwegian; some parts I could understand pretty easily. Norwegian is not that hard; the fact that I study German also helps a lot.

Hoest writes all the music and lyrics of Taake, and yes, he's quite a genius.

It is quite a masterpiece. The reason the scores on blackmetal are high is that well, the crap among blackmetal doesn´t get reviewed on metalreviews. For other than genoius you have to go to dedicated bm sites. Thats ok with me, it is a small genre. I don´t think the despair is even close to Burzum, is it a masterpiece? Hell yeah! I get quite a bit of Immortal vibes sometimes. Mixed up with alot of other nice stuff. Is there anything new? Not really the just perfect and mix. Thats the way to progress in my opinion. BM is deep this can go on forever.
