Hmm, summing all world problems that the American government has tried to solve in the past, I recall at least the last few that I've followed, people here were collectively against even before the action.

Well, I'm not counting Iraq in my previous statement. I think everyone in the world, besides the US government, was against that one. However, there have been others (Somalia, for example) that a good deal of countries would have taken umbrage with a lack of US involvement. I'm not guaranteeing the Netherlands would feel this way, but there would be more than a few that would. Personally, I would much rather our government focused on correcting its own country's problems than to involve itself in everyone else's.

ROY CASTLE! Jesus, I cried when I heard he died. I used o love that record-breakers thing he presented. Was only a kid, used to watc Blockbusters as well with that old bastard Bob Holmes, but that was good too.

Come and live in England, Rhys. It's all fun here, all bloody day long.

Apparently he was trying to break the world tea drinking record when it happened (overdose!)... Shame really...

(But the lung cancer may have had something to do with it!).

I had a mate who went on Blockbusters, he did two Gold-runs and got a shitty personal organiser, crappy rugby shirt & Dictionary, & a weekend in Belgium (great when you're 16, funny as fuck when you look back!)! They just don't make shows like they used to...

Really? Wow, watching it you think you're going to get the moon on a stick, don't you? Now it's all money, money, money. And JAde Goody. How depressing it's gotten!

On sale now - Saddam Hussein t-shirts! Theyre a little tight around the neck, but they hang well

I know, TV values are so fucked up these days. Reality TV has really ruined TV as a whole. It's like how many TV shows do you need with celebritites in long winded, fly on the wall, irrelevant phone-in shows for 'charity' in situations like ice skating, jungles, farms, dance floors, doing karaoke, in a circus, on a tropical island or simply sitting in a house all day.

And that's not including General Joe Public in The X-factor, Big Brother or Come Dancing! I fucking hate TV. Love the odd drama or comedy, but 90% of telly is just mind numbing waste of space soaps or reality TV. If TV Chiefs (to make this relevant to this thread!) could have got away with a phone-in competition and broadcast Saddam's hanging, then by crikey they would have done it.

And you say Saddam is pure evil? I think the people telling you he was evil (the media) is the real root of it all, as who told you all you know about him, how can you judge him otherwise unless you were in a non-western country or actually in Iraq?

We don't actually own a tv. Don't miss it at all.

And I never said that, assuming that that last bit was aimed at me.

:D Alcoholism is turning out to be quite fun, my end. So far, managed to avoid any KGG-esque run-ins with Da Law, things are looking up.

Thing is I love alcoholism as well, which is also the problem too I guess! I've done some crazy things (see one of my posts in the Download 2007 thread as an example), and been arrested twice (one was for vandalising a cash machine 'cos it didn't give me any more cash-doh!).

But like everything I do, I get embarassed by things, but will never regret anything I do as life's too short. I'm not here to preach so I say enjoy that boozing man!! And if I can offer any advice to any wouldbe heavy drinkers, then it would be don't try to run from the Cops when pissed, you'll never get away and because you feel numb they try to hurt you more as they get a rush in seeing you in distress!!
