H.P. Lovecraft's Dreams in The Witch house. Has Anyone seen DIWH or any of the masters of horros series, directed by Mikk Garris?

Nope. Sounds interesting, though.

I saw the trailer for it last night and it looks shit hot. I'll report on it proper by this time next week, but generally it's like a series of one hour long one off shows directed by people like Wes Craven or John Carpenter et al.

I saw the Stuart Gordon Masters of Horror version of DITWH, have it on DVD.

I haven't read that Lovecraft story so I can't comment on how it works as an adaptation of it, but I really liked Gordon's episode. It totally outclasses the John Carpenter contribution in the same collection.

But then, the main reason I enjoyed it was the plotline, which totally twats you in the face. So, if you are already familiar with that from the literary version it might not have the same impact on you. There wasn't anything exceptional about the performances or direction, it was simply the narrative that made it work.

I love how the ending are always bitter and cruel. Dance of The Dead is another wicked movie from MOH.

Totally, I love an unhappy ending. I'm desperate to see Dario's contribution (Jennifer, I think it's called?) but it's only available as part of a boxed set that I can't afford.

Ive seen it and IMO its one of the best of the MOH series.
Guillermo del Toro (director of Pan's Labyrinth) is going to make a movie based on another short story of Lovecraft : At the mountains of madness, now that should kick some serious ass.
