Well Symphorce is one of my favorite bands! I have this album on order so I can not comment on it yet.

'Godspeed' was a slight step down from 'Twice Second' and 'Phorceful Ahead' so I am curious to see how this one stacks up.

I for one love the thrashy and heavier sound in their brand of metal and I think it sets them apart.

Symphorce not original??? I don't get that statement at all. They have there own sound and don't sound like anybody else really. How many power metal bands d-tune there guitars this low and have the thrash elements mixed in. Yeah there are some, Angel Dust yes, Nevermore, Brainstorm, Rage, and Tad Morose maybe but all of these bands have developed there own sound as well and are pretty original too I think. They have influences yes but they don't copy or sound like anyone else.

Non Original bands would be like Hammerfall, Dream Evil, Primal Fear, Gamma Ray, Freedom Call, Edguy, Iron Savior, Dragon 'fill in the blank' and a lot of other countless euro-power metal bands that blatently borrow there sound from another band entirely like you know Helloween and Judas Priest seem to be the artists most ripped off and copied. Not that I don't like some of the bands mentioned, but they are obviously not original nor have they developed a sound of there own.

I know everbody has there opinion about what is original and all but calling 'Symphorce' non-original is very misleading. Surely their music may not be ground breaking or anything but that goes for 99% of all albums reviewed on this site.

Peace.........

This album is really good. I feel like they kind of lose themselves when they go really heavy two of the tracks, but overall it's around an 80–85/100.

didn't these guys rip off lyrics? (at least some guy accused them of that back when we had the old forum format).

anyways i've been meaning to check them out for a while, heavier, faster power metal is right up my alley.

People have been accusing Andy B. Franck of plagiarizing lyrics for a while now, but no one ever has any proof. That rumor is kept alive simply because of comments like yours—no offense to you, of course, that's just how rumors stay alive.

They're not power metal. Dark, heavy, metal—yup! Power metal? Ocassionally. But overall? Not to my ears. They're a bit too mid-tempo and groovy for that tag, I think.
