I was abit let down by this album. I loved their last album and I havent heard any early albums really so I was expecting some more solid power metal, but whats there is just boring to my ears, the songs arent bad really, just nothing keeps my attention passed like 3 songs at a time. It was ok though and I would give it about a 70.

Yeah, this one sadly bored me, too. I had the download, and only listened once or twice, so I'll give it more listens when I buy it. So while my opinion on it being somewhat boring may change, I know I'll never think it better than the last album.

Same here, Crest Of The Martyrs was such an awesome album and this one was a big disappointment, the new singer sucks, Tony Taylor was way better.

I was at the Hellride forums earlier, and people are saying this album blows Crest of the Martyrs away...because it sounds like a demo. Those elitist turds are so silly.

That is just gay beyond being gay to like something because it sounds like a demo. I don't think I could even go to that forum.

I am confused. This album was recorded before Tony left the band. The version I downloaded still has Tony singing. Did they re-record this with the new singer?

As far as I know, they didn't re-record anything. Taylor is singing on this album. They're currently working on their fifth album with Aune. I guess this review needs an edit.

(this is why reviewing MP3s is never a good idea)

I'm trying to check into this but you might be right. I checked a few other reviews out there before I posted mine just to be sure that the new vocalist had indeed recorded this new album. Most of them complained about the new vocalist and how different he sounds to Tony Taylor. I just put on Crest Of The Martyrs and although I hear similarities between the two albums, to my ears it still sounds like a different vocalist for Netherworlds. Tony's personal problems (apparently he struggles with depression) may be the source of some of the very substandard and downright awful performances on this album if indeed this is him singing on Netherworlds. If it is him, my review needs a major re-write!! Hopefully this discussion in the forums might clear up some confusion....anyone else have any info about whether Tony Taylor is the one doing vocals for this album?

If this is true then i must say that Tony sounds really bad on this album.

Edit: ive just heard this again, and the guy singing on the new album is definitely Tony, in fact he is not siging very different than on Isle Of Hydra or the debut, but he does sound different on Crest Of The Martyrs and i think the reason for that was Piet Sielck, now that i know this i must give this guys a second chance, the reason i felt disappointed was because this album didnt sound anything like Crest Of The Martyrs, but now i see that CotM sound more like Iron Savior (which i happen to love) than Twisted Tower Dire.

The official word.

Yes these reviewers are a bunch of tards. It’s getting so annoying we’ve been emailing the reviewers and making sure criticism goes to the right person. Tony left the band months after the album was done. They’ll know when they hear the new singer because he doesn’t sound anything like Tony.

Looks like an edit is in order.

Review officially edited. I'm really surprised by this as the majority of people I've seen either reviewing or disussing this album were all under the impression that it was the new vocalist singing on this album. It's amazing that the same guy can sound so vastly different on two different albums. I guess we can chaulk it up to the production differences between Crest Of The Martyrs and Netherworlds......with Netherworlds being one of the worst overall vocal performances on any Twisted Tower Dire album yet. Maybe it's all for the better that the band has moved on without him.

Honestly, it sounds like Tony Taylor to me. I actually thought it was obvious. I am really suprised that a lot of reviewers are assuming it's the new guy. I just don't hear it.

I like this a little more than Crest of the Martyrs but the melodies in general are a lot weaker than on Isle of the Hydra (Tony's vocals are really uninspired and the guitar leads focus too much on being flashy with not enough melody to them).
