+1

Listen to whatever the hell you want. Most people seem to hit a wall with metal at some point, some people come back to it, some don't. Give it some time.

I listen to psytrance more then metal now but still when i put iced earth or ensiferm or lost horizon on i get the same feeling as i did the first time i ever heard them. At the end of the day your gonna listen to what your ears tell you to, no need to worry about it, music is music.

Tastes change. This is fact. This is why bands change styles as they grow older. It's natural. What I dislike is when people start liking new styles/bands, and then talk shit about stuff they previously liked. We've seen it all before with the "Well I liked [insert nu-metal band] back when I was stupid, but now I realize they sucked all along." Pffft!

Honestly I feel that way about a few bands that I liked a few years ago. I'm not sure why though, I like every genre of music but nu-metal/neo-metal whatever it's called, I just can't stand it now.

I used to like Blink 182 and Linkin Park, and I can remember why I liked them but I really don't look for that in music anymore.

:D

Hehe, w00t!! Last one I expected changing so quickly, although I kinda noticed a move to open water here. M83 is indeed really nice, they're quite high up my last.fm

Ken, why am I not allowed to dislike Jingle Bells while I liked it when I was 6? My taste changes, so does my opinion on music, give me one good reason why I should still like what I previously listened to.

I agree with others here. Listen to whatever you want, whenever you want. Just because you have diverse musical tastes doesn't mean that you're not a metal fan. :dio: Enjoy whatever you want and screw anyone who would question it. Most of all never question yourself.

The greatest thing about listening to other genres of music is that you learn to appreciate so much. Listening to other stuff also opens you to so many more influences if you're a musician.

I mean I'm not saying I don't like metal, it's just there is so much more out there to listen to, theres no way I could ever go back to listening to metal 9 hours a day. Maybe an hour a day of metal...hour of hip hop...an hour of somethin else you know?

some time ago i'd open up itunes and i'd know exactly what artist i wanted to lsiten to, as i'd listen to them for days at a time, it's been a while since i've found or rediscovered something that grabs me by the balls like that.

but i still enjoy pretty much whatever the hell "random" puts on! :dio: :dio:

but yeah Husker, listen to what you feel like listening.
