(Big, bombastic, choir like chorus lines are not used). I agree with everything you said , except for me even though I enjoy the album and the songwriting, I think some of the songs need the above mentioned lack of bombastic choirs. I know this might move them from more of a trad style power metal to that of an epic or sympho type power metal, but for me the generic type choruses (tho I agree are well written and very catchy) seem to be a bit bland to some degree. While i too find myself coming back to this album. Its similarities (primarily in the choruses) keep me from putting the album on repeat. This is just a mild thing of course, because it is probably personal preference and not even what the band is looking for, but for me I would prefer them add some variety, flavor, move of the backing vocals in the mix, or even have the other band members more involved in the chorus sections. I had this same beef with the last Falconer and it is one of my favorite albums of last year. These bands dont have to go as far as say a Rhapsody or Fairyland, but they could move the choruses more to a level of say Edguy/Strato. Sometimes if just the lead singer can change his voice or range enuff within a chorus section that would do as well.
I agree with the score tho about an 83 or so.

also, If the Falconer had variety in the choruses that thing might tinge on a perfect score (IMO)

I found this album lacking something couple of really good songs but just didn't get me in overall 70/100 for me.

Crystal Eyes' career summed up in 22 words.

If this new guy is indeed similar to Haridon Lee and if there really are similarities to Mental Reservation, then I'll put this on my priorities list.
