i just read through a list of demons and the likes untill i saw "Astaroth". Besides being the right hand of satan or something like that, he's also a math teacher of some sort!? .. like me!!!
but he's character differs alot depending on where you look on the net. Other places he's totally gay.

I always thought you were named after the Soul Calibur character.

but i guess Satan's right hand is cooler than "one of the crappiest characters in SC, that's right even worse than Yunsung"

he he nope... i can't even remember who Astaroth from SC is. If i had to steal a name from a game character, however, it would be Sephiroth.. On the other hand it would seem rather silly to do so. Sephiroth is a bad and overly used username. But he does have the "-roth" in his name, which is good :dio:

About four years ago, I had a really weird dream, in which John Malkovitch, Bob Hope and the old fart to used to play Q in the James Bond films appeared to me and ordered me to travel to India, to seek the guidance of an ancient wizard who lived under an old temple, else this really bad curse would come upon me (soul-boiling and genital-crushing and stuff). I awoke with the letters D, A, and Z carved into my arm, to mark me out to servants of the spirits everywhere, and rather than accept my destiny as a washing powder salesman, I reversed the letters to destroy the curse, and since then live under that name to avoid the wrath of John, Bob, and the old fart to used to play Q in the James Bond films.

No idea. I literally stole the whole account.

Shut it Zadsterboombox or whatevah.

Ehm. Sorry I'm no pagan god or mayan king or something equally gay as those, I took my name from one of the best songs in black metal, Kathaarian Life Code, by Darkthrone. Kathaaria's supposed to be a place, some different world of some city, I dunno. *looks it up* No. I still dunno.

Kathaaria was built, world without end.

*makes a flashy logout*

Both Astaroth and Azrael are demons.

Mine is something of a synonym of Sonata Arctica. Plus, it just sounds damn cool.

Long story.

When I was 13, I had a dream in which I was part of this group of werewolves that had the ability to "hide" (become invisible, something) in shadows. I thought it was a really awesome idea, so I used it for a creative writing assignment in English class. From there, I developed this whole literary universe around the idea, with three different types of these werewolves that could hide - one in shadows/darkness, one in moonlight, and one in sunlight (there was a fourth type that couldn't do that, and were sort of the villians of the world, since they ate humans). Anyway, I called the shadow wolves "Shadowcrafters" (because it sounds awesome). They're anti-heroes of a sort; they like hunting down nasty people and exacting revenge (emasculating/castrating and blinding rapists, for example).

In high school, I started taking Latin, because I'm an overachiever and if you took three years of a language, you got the extra special "look at me I'm smrt" diploma. Being horrible at languages, I was quite surprised when I did well in the class, and enjoyed it. In my sophomore year or so, I learned the word for executioner, "carnifex", and thought it was the most awesome word I'd ever heard in any language. Since I liked translating random English stuff into Latin, I did a fairly bad translation of Shadowcrafter; Carnifex Umbris. I was shooting for "executioner from the shadows" or something along those lines.

It's a fairly common username for me now, although I'm starting to get tired of it.

That was not a nice thing to do. Must be annoying to be mistaking for being a girl all the time, right? .. i know "Kim" is a girls name too, but i look rather masculine so it never happens to me :)

I originally did it after the AC/DC song, but I keep it now because I think it's a cool name...

Shuten Doji is the name of an Oni (goblin, ogre, or demon, depending on who you ask) that was supposed to live in the mountains near where I used to live in Japan. He would come down with his band of naer-do-wells and loot, pillage, and generally mess around with the locals. Eventually a group of samurai were sent up the mountain to kill him and his group, and after cutting off his head in an epic battle, the head flew off and Shuten Doji was never seen again.

You know... until he started posting on a message board. Yeah.

I think there's an anime named Shuten Doji, but I only found out about it recently.

Wow I'm a nerd. I totally figured that you'd named yourself after the Tyranid heavy unit from Warhammer 40k. Ahem...

Anyway I was reading The Time Machine when I joined this board, and was all riled up on how totally awesome and badass Morlocks were.

It's a man's name, it's Russian. Some western folks just decided an a at the end means it's a name for a female, whatever. There does not seam a sudden drop in women's interest in me after I have I've given my name, so I don't mind.

the character wasn't that awesome or important (although all his lines were IN CAPS), but Azrael just sounds so cool for some reason.

 I thought you were named after the cat from the Smurfs.

My thoughts exactly
