I know, that's why I said "excluding you". Your situation was different than the rest of the folks Dylan listed.

Well lets tell the whole story, shall we?
I am tired of constantly being portrayed as the bad guy here.
When I began reviewing, I was not given any rules or guidelines, other than to write up a review and submit it to the team by midnight Sunday, and the staff would enter it. That was the extent of my "training".
A couple of weeks go by after my last review and apparently Chris had been attempting to contact me, but (as Chris will well remember) my PC was down for that period of time.
Anyways, the e-mail that I finally received from Chris was scathingly abusive, and quite rude; something along the lines of "Who do you think you are?" and "Theres no room for a "hotshot" freelance reviewer that only reviews what he wants" etc... there was much more but that was the gist of it...well I explained that my PC was on the fritz and the CD's they sent me to review were already reviewed on the site a long time ago.
We exchanged a few more e-mails, and were reconciled, but I told him my resignation was firm, no time etc... but really, that was just an excuse, as I was put off completely by the rude and unneccesary attack. Also by the anger dislpayed by Chris, which seemed excessive. Not to mention that he was very condescending, something that I do not allow .

Prior to accepting the job, I told the staff that I had never written a review for a web site before; knowing this, perhaps they would have been a little more clear about what they expected and what the guidelines were PRIOR to my first submission.
Was I wrong in criticising the choice of reviews covered here?
Perhaps. But the staff are not as pure as they would have you believe in all this.
I am not claiming to be an angel here, but neither is the staff in regards to my resignation.
I am sure this will be deleted and I have NO intention nor desire to post here again, but I am tired of my name being brought up in a manner of half truths and one-sided blame.
To Kathaarian, Misha, Slayer of Kings and the rest of the old bunch...
Many Hails! HAHAHA!

p.s.
I lmfao at the way Eyesore turned out to be a huge troll after all!
Well....I'm not gonna delete it.

You know what, it's kind of depressing to see another means for us to express ourselves by making our own little reviews forbidden. I have posted 3 reviews on these forums in the past and they were either done after you guys reviewed it just to show my point of view or of an album that had not been reviewed.

The thing is not everybody likes or has the time to review albums week after week and you guys don't make any space for collaborators who would for example turn in a review each month or so. Why not simply allow "guest" reviews on your site that would follow your guidelines? Why not allow part-time reviewers? That would probably avoid any problems and it would probably fill in the holes in your Database.

Well... thank you. My statement was not a jab at you, nor was it a jab at anyone; I just feel that the whole story should be known.
I can be and have acted (at times, no, no, I know it's shocking, but it's true!) like an asshole, and can be an stubborn, elitist, egotistical, prick of a bastard, but I am always willing to admit when I am wrong, and have done so before...
But I am persona non grata 'round here, so we'll see.

No, I really have no intention nor desire to post here (something that I am sure will make a few here quite happy).
They way it was told, you would think I merely walked out on the "team" leaving them high and dry; that was not the case, and I merely wanted to show the rest of the story of How V Quit The MR Reviewing Staff; something that was conveniently omitted by Alex , whom this really had NOTHING to do with, whatsoever.
I have done so, more or less, and, at least this time I am able to say goodbye, so...
goodbye, adieu, adios, sayonara, ciao, later, blah, blah, blah.

Since my name got mentioned ...
I was never aware of the story told hereby by V. It would seem to me that such unawareness (which V agrees to) completely eliminates the "convenience" factor of mentioning something or not. I guess what happened b/t V and Chris had to be resolved b/t the two of them, but maybe what happened b/t the two of them made it unresolvable for V. I would not know ...
The statement made by V to the MR staff at the time of him leaving was that the rigors of his job/professional situation and family commitments preclude him from being a regular contributor, and since that is the requirement MR places on people, V decided it would be better that he left. That was the only statement I remember, and in fact I don't recall any problems being caused by it. If my memory betrays me and there were other things said, I would not mind to stand corrected.
Where I got put off is after V left he started criticizing the policies, review choice selection, lack of one genre and prevalence of the other, etc. We know now the full story, but I still think that was uncalled for, even given the "conversation" b/t Chris and V at the time. What I am saying, man, there was your chance. If you could get around the argument with Chris, we could have debated the best of policies, you would have mightily contributed to the albums being reviewed here, and you would have a chance to influence the situation from within, not criticize it from the outside.
Long time ago me and V came to the conclusion that we are actually quite a bit alike. Yet so different. Both of us have very demanding jobs, both of us have the family with two little kids. Our political views are different, although we respect that each other is quite knowledgable on the subject. Our music tastes are different, but whose tastes are alike? With the rigors of my job (I have the responsibility of running a company, so 6 more dudes and their families livelihood depend on my decisions), and the bitchings of my wife who thinks my MR hobby is silly, and taking some flak for what I said in some of the reviews and what I didn't, reviewing/or not some material, etc. for the last 4.5 yrs I have been trying to work through it all. Some cases were tougher than others, ask Misha. Is my contribution worth a damn? This is not for me to decide.
So, V, if you stayed then, you would have been helpful in "separating the wheat from the chafe", to borrow a phrase from you. The fact that a man with some tough real life experiences could not allow to be above a "tough talk over review submissions and PC troubles" with a much younger man with a lot less real life experience seems like an easy bow out route.
I recall in my very early days getting it from Danny for trashing Soilwork's Figure No. 5 (which I thought I reviewed fairly). Maybe I am a "fucking forgiver", as Ken called me once when he and Misha got into it, but I am still here.

Now, Alex, that's not very fair now is it? I hope after I left the team you guys didn't talk a bunch of shit about me. That would be unfortunate, as I never said one single negative word about you, Alex. And I surely never referred to you as a "fucking forgiver," which sounds very derogatory. I did, however, say that you are more prone to forgive someone. Clearly not an insult, nor an inaccuracy. I respected everyone on the team, aside from maybe Misha (who clearly didn't deserve it). Maybe I'm misinterpreting your words, and if I am I apologize, but I had to make it known that I never once had issues with you, Alex, nor did I ever insult you.

And I know the Misha Brigade will have a field day with this one, but I literally just clicked on memberlist, sorted by username, and found this account on page three. It took approximately one minute. Hijacked! Booyah! You can ban it, de-activate it, whatever. I really have no desire to post here anymore, and I won't, especially in light of this thread. (Maybe it's a good idea, though, since this forum is Blabbermouth-lite. All hate. No substance.) And I've read all the insults about me, too. Quite funny (though retarded), in an internet tough guy kind of way. But I had to say something to you, Alex, because while I think some people on this forum are complete and utter morons, I never had issues with anyone on the team (even Chris, who like Valefor, sent out scathing, insult-laced e-mails toward me, to the team, though apologized to me privately). Valefor is still a retard, though.

Have a Ban Party and ban us both. :)

Love,
Ken
