Satyricon with Volcano - Experimental Black Metal to Black n'Roll.

Napalm Death with Diatribes - Grind to weird Killing Jokey stuff (still, they changed back a few albums later)

The Simpsons from season 10 onwards.

Mayhem by continuing without Euronymous or Dead.

Im not sureif thats " jumping the shark". They are Definatley things you could make a case against though.

The Simpsons did go horribly wrong, but I've seen some of the more recent episodes and it seems to have got back on track a bit. Makes me more optimistic about the film.

I haven't seen a new Simpsons episode in a few months now, but the ones from the year or so before that were genereally among the worst ever. Its just a totally different show now with similar characters to the old one.

For me, season 13 was where there was a real noticable drop in quality. Because I don't have Sky, I haven't watched any of the more recent episodes. Though if it continued the way it had been, every episode probably involves an government conspiracy or international assassins, which is not what The Simpsons should be about.

It was going downhill from then, but season 13 was the first season I watched and thought "hang on a minute, this sucks," I will probably NOT watch the movie. Because I don't have Sky, my Simpsons experience has not yet been soiled too badly.

No way, I have season 8 on DVD and it's classic! It's the one with Hank Scorpio in and all that jazz.

Theyll never be able to top seasons 3-6. 7, 8 and 9 are still pretty good, but after that it sorta gets worse and worse. Im still optimistic about the movie because David Mirkin, the guy who ran the show in my fave seasons (5 and 6) is working on it.

Directed by
David Silverman - By far one of the best Simpsons directors. Worked on the show since the beginning i believe.

Screenplay

James L. Brooks - As the show has gone on, he has seemed to have less involement in the show
Matt Groening - um, he created the show lol
Al Jean - ran seasons 2, 3, and 4
Ian Maxtone-Graham - One of the newer writers.......damn it.
George Meyer - Second best simpsons writer ever. Been on the show for ages.
David Mirkin - ran seasons 5 and 6
Mike Reiss - ran seasons 2, 3, and 4
Mike Scully - Ran seasons 9 and i think season 10.....not so great lol
Matt Selman - one of the newer writers. so, not good.....
John Swartzwelder - best simpsons writer ever, hands down!
Jon Vitti - Left after season 4 i think.......(Which was the first time the simpsons started having to hire new writers)

With a list like that writing the show im still hopeful the movie will kick ass.

But too many cooks spoil the broth, as they say. I think it could end up a little bitty and disjointed.

I wish they could have talked Conan O'Brien into coming back and writing some stuff for the movie.

You will be proud of their new one. It is def raw, nasty and necro as fuck in the production. just swirling mess of pissy/disturbing Black Metal.

yeah he wrote the best Simpsons episodes.

I don't think its the writers right now that are the problem, I think its just that they're out of plot ideas so they're aiming for increasingly over the top things with increasingly forced jokes so its just getting dull.

Matt Groening should have said it was gonna end at season 10 or something, given it an end date. Then we could have seen 10 seasons of great stuff rather than 6-10 seasons (Depending on ur opinion) of great stuff, followed by however many seasons of mediocrity. What season are they up to? 23 or something?

Seconded! I like the new one, and i've hated everything after Wolf's Lair Abyss.

Continuing under the Mayhem name without Euronymous is still a pretty tasteless move.

Money makes the world go round my friend...
But yes, the Simpsons should have ended at least five years ago.

It's still a highly rated show though. For all of the bashing it gets, it still has viewers.

Compared to 90% of the shit on tv today, the new episodes are quality. Just a big quality drop from the old seasons.
